Love Is Blind's Chelsea Griffin Freezes Her Eggs After Divorce

Love Is Blind star Chelsea Griffin does not allow him to divorce Appiah stopped interfered with her plans to one day become a mother.
“My life changed, and I had been married for four years, and that chapter ended,” Chelsea, 35, told me. People Wednesday, July 22. “I am 35 years old, and I had to look in the mirror and make important decisions about my life and my fertility because I have always wanted to be a mother.”
Chelsea, who announced her split from Kwame, 36, in May, noted that she decided to turn to Pacific Northwest Fertility to help her maintain her fertility after her split. After studying her options, she decided to freeze her eggs once they were ready for babies.
“Knowledge gives us confidence, and I feel like once I was clear about my choices, I felt more at peace and empowered to do something for myself,” she revealed.
When Chelsea began her fertility journey, she realized that her decision did not come from a place of “fear” but, rather, a desire for “freedom.”
“And it's about hope and resilience, and actually being able to control the future and hopefully having what I want, and that's being a mother,” she added.
The reality star also explained that motherhood has “always been a dream” of hers and is “something that is always in my heart and mind and my future.”
When Chelsea's relationship with Kwame fell apart, her desire to be a mother never wavered.

Netflix“Me [know] when my time is right, it will come,” he explained: “The end of my marriage is very bad, and this assures me of that and makes my chances much greater, and allows me not to live in fear, and rush to date people to find the father of my child.”
Chelsea is at peace with her choice, revealing that the dream of parenthood is no longer tied to finding The One at a certain time.
“I can have time, I can live comfortably, knowing that my eggs are safe and secure, and ready when I need them,” she said.
Chelsea noted that she hopes her openness about egg freezing helps other women see that they don't have to be on someone else's timeline.
“I mean, you grow up in your 30s, and everyone around you is getting married and having children, and if one of those steps in this process is too difficult for you, it's painful and challenging, and it's hard to see everyone going through these milestones that you wish you were in,” he said. “When we share parts of our journey with other people or when we struggle with what's going on, I think we can be better supported.”
Fans meet Chelsea in 2023 with season 4 on Netflix Love Is Blindwhich featured a group of contestants based in Seattle who are looking for love and are willing to make marriage invisible in their pursuit of happily ever after. During the season finale, she and Kwame tied the knot with two other couples.
Weeks after they celebrated four years of marriage, the pair announced that they were divorcing.

Netflix“It is heartbreaking to share that our marriage is coming to an end,” Chelsea wrote in May's statement on Instagram. “This is not the outcome I expected, and I entered this relationship with deep love, commitment and the intention to build a lasting life together.”
He added, “I poured my whole heart into this marriage and I want it to work until the end, but lasting marriages need more than just love. I am forever grateful for the life, memories and experiences we shared.”
Kwame wrote his own statement, revealing at the time, “This is not something either of us had ever thought about, and it has been one of the hardest decisions to make.”
He commented, “As hard as it was to get here, I believe it's worth it considering among many other things, that our ultimate goals in life don't sound aligned.”
