Opera singer Jubilant SykesThe autopsy report revealed new information about the singer's sudden death at the hands of his son.
According to the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner documents obtained by Us On Tuesday, July 21, Skyes' cause of death was “multiple stab wounds” – a record 78. His death was considered a “homicide.” The alleged murder took place at the singer's home in Los Angeles on December 8, 2025, followed by his son. Micah Sykes' subsequent arrest.
Jubilant was 71 years old.
The report also included information from Jubilant's wife, Cecelia Sykeswho called the Santa Monica Police Department and said her “son, who has a documented history of mental illness, stabbed and killed” her husband.
“The wife was in the shower when she heard the deceased yelling for her to call 9-1-1,” the report said. “When he got out of the shower, he saw their eldest son standing there [Jubilant] to stab him with a sharp sharp weapon.”
A medical summary within the documents revealed that “at least 73 wounds in total” were found, 68 of which were labeled as “sharp force” and five as “tense force.”
In addition, the weapons apparently used in the incident, found by police near Jubilant's body, were “a 10-pound dumbbell covered in blood stains” and “a curved knife with a blade about 9 inches long and 2 inches wide.”
The toxicology report contained in the documents stated that no illegal drugs or prescription drugs were found, and Jubilant was pronounced dead by officials at the scene.
