Maitland Ward He revealed where he stood with him Boy Meets World costars following his appearance on “Pod Meets World.”
“We haven't talked at all,” Ward, 49, said of his current career Danielle Fishel, Is Fridle again Rider Strong Monday, May 18, interview with Fox News Digital. “No one is in contact with him.”
Ward added that she reached out to Fishel to offer her “support” during the actor's competition Dancing with the Stars season 34.
“There was no hatred and there was no fight or anything,” he explained. “That's right, we haven't talked, those three. [We’re] in a place where we're not connected right now, and it's sad.”
Last year, Ward appeared on “Pod Meets World” to recount his time on the series. While the conversation started out friendly, things took a turn for the worse when Fishel and Ward got into a heated exchange after Fishel asked Ward if he “hated” them.
“No, I don't hate you,” said Ward. “I think you hate me because you didn't want to talk to me.” Girl Meets World and that was painful.”
Fishel said he “talked” to Ward during his visit Girl Meets World set up. (Fishel not only reprized her role as Topanga in the spinoff but served as a producer.)
Ward also blamed Fishel for his break with Facebook, which Fishel denied. Fishel shared that he was not visiting the platform and wanted to reach out to Ward after receiving one of his messages years later.
“I asked Will, 'Please ask Maitland if I can get his phone number so I can apologize to him?'” said Fishel. “And he wrote to Will, 'No, let's just save it for the podcast, it's going to be good in the ratings.'
Ward denied the suggestion that the conversation would benefit ratings and said he thought their conversation would have happened “at that time.”
“There was beef between us and I didn't get it. And maybe I got the wrong signs, but there was definitely some kind of weirdness there,” Ward said, adding that he “didn't know” what went wrong with their friendship. “I don't know if you thought I was trying to come on set and take over. Not take over, but try to steal the spotlight or something. But I didn't know.
Fishel apologized for making it seem like it was “personally against” Ward and that wasn't the case on the set of Girl Meets World. Ward said Fishel “didn't like that” he was “getting so much attention” after Ward joined the adult entertainment industry and Fishel reminded Ward that he was “on the cover of Maxim in 2014.”
After Ward's podcast made headlines, the actor shared that he was “surprised” by his interview with Fishel.
“It just feels uncomfortable to be with people you've called friends — especially in the past,” Ward said in a February 2025 interview with TooFab. “I thought Danielle was my friend – I realize she didn't like me, and she hasn't over the years, but it's sad for me too.”
Fishel has not addressed Ward's comments since appearing on the podcast.
