The Young and the Restless he has Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) flirting with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), and soon he asks Phyllis on a date, and I bet she says yes. Phyllis may not say yes the first time he asks, but in the end, she likes Matt enough to give him a chance.

They have chemistry. They are both pariahs in the city and both are lonely. But I think that when those in Genoa City who know Phyllis find out that she's dating Matt, it won't be good.

And I think this is all part of why he's protecting Matt now. So, remember, Phyllis was worried about what would happen to Matt if the authorities went ahead with the case and he ended up in jail. And now Phyllis hates the idea of ​​Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) using Matt to destroy Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). It's not really about Cane, however. Phyllis can't believe that Victor isn't playing Matt and suspects that he will hurt both Cane and Matt.

So, this week we will see him tell Phyllis a good story for once. Matt talks about a man with no memory asking a woman he met on a date. Since the criminal charges have been cleared, I think it will be very difficult for Victor to try and get them back after he's done with them. But then again, I suspect Matt will be under Victor's thumb for a while, not forever. So, like I said, Matt asks Phyllis this week, and we'll see how that goes. There's a chance she might tell Matt no at first because she might be rightly worried about your sight, but in the end I think Phyllis will agree to Matt. We even saw Phyllis fall in love with Matt in the beginning, ending up on the floor. But Phyllis and Matt will eventually go public or end up out when they start dating.

So, the first thing I want to think about is the reaction of Daniel Romelotti (Michael Graziadei) when Phyllis starts dating Matt. At this point, Daniel just had it with his mother. He is ready to leave forever for Phyllis. He and Summer would be forgiven if they never spoke to Phyllis again after, if you remember, he faked her death. That was during the entire Jeremy Stark program. Phyllis caused Summer and Daniel unnecessary grief by lying about her death. And I don't know if they will ever fully forgive Phyllis for that. It took a long time for Daniel and Summer to let him back into their lives.

Then when Phyllis pulls the trigger by stealing Newman Enterprises with Cane, it sends Daniel and Summer over the edge because Phyllis is hurting the people they care about while chasing revenge, power and profit. And even before that, he had already pushed Daniel and Summer too far. So Daniel would be very shocked to find out that Phyllis is dating Matt. And then, he would run off to summer. And even though Phyllis returned Newman Enterprises to Victor, we know that Daniel still hasn't forgiven his mother because he knows that Phyllis didn't do it for the right reasons.

Although, I will say that Matt seems to be a really changed person and wants to be a better person and wants to make amends to those he hurt. But I don't think Phyllis' kids will care about any of that. It's just her dating Matt, a person who has done unspeakable things. I think her kids will be surprised that Phyllis is getting close to Matt. There is always a chance that he could end up reverting to his old ways. I don't think he will because Josh Griffith seems to like Roger Howarth. I am also his fan. And to continue Y&R, Matt has to be really good or really bad and always be a jerk.

The Young and the Restless: Potential Fallout and Response

The second thing I saw ahead of Phyllis and Matt was that Phyllis offered Matt a job Arabesque or another company. That would upset Victor and maybe Cane too. And we know that Phyllis likes to ruffle Victor's feathers and she also likes an excuse to lash out at Cane. And I think Victor will absolutely go through the roof. Also, don't forget recently Sharon and Phyllis had a nice hug during which Sharon told Phyllis that she can always count on her and that she is there for her and that she cares. It's surprising, but Sharon and Phyllis are actually friends after years of competing, plotting and bickering.

It's a big moment, but Phyllis dating Sharon's rapist is a bummer and something she might be angry about and might chew Phyllis out. But I think more than that, Sharon would be afraid of Phyllis that Matt might hurt her. However, Sharon is a very forgiving person. So, it's not beyond his control to see that Matt had mental health issues before and is a different man now. So, we'll see how it all plays out, but I can see Phyllis and Matt becoming an official couple soon, and the reaction will turn Genoa City upside down.
