The Young and the Restless: Cane's Ruthless Rescue Plot Tied to Malcolm's Terminal Illness?

The Young and the Restless brings back Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) who needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life because he has aplastic anemia. And according to the official Y&R spoilers, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) soon reveals himself to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
So, I think these two issues may overlap and overlap. We will talk about how Cane can finally redeem himself in the eyes of Lily and in the eyes of many people in Genoa City. And it may all tie back to Malcolm's return.
Lily Can't Give In to Malcolm in The Young and the Restless
That's right. So, this week Lily is completely devastated when she finds out that she is not a suitable bone marrow donor for Malcolm due to his previous cancer treatment. This is a bad time for Lily because she is already hurt by how angry Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is with her.
If you remember, he chewed out Lily for faking her kidnapping to help Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). And because of Devon's anger, Lily doesn't feel like she can talk to him. But Cane could see that something was wrong with him and tried to talk to Lily even though she had promised that he was done with her. But he didn't talk to Cane.
And instead, Lily heads this week to the Abbott mansion and turns on Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). She tells him about Malcolm's illness. And Lily says she wanted to be the one to save Malcolm. But he can't. Lily then gets a call from Malcolm and goes to meet him.
This is when he tells Lily that he knows he can't donate because of his cancer. Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) already told Malcolm so Lily doesn't have to, which is good. But Malcolm says there is another chance to save his life. There is another.
Holden Novak is Lily's brother on Y&R
Then he surprises Lily and drops the big bombshell that he has a brother. And Malcolm says he just found out he has a son and it's none other than Holden Novak. (Nathan Owens). So Lily was completely surprised. You know, I'd say these days Holden and Lily are more human than they were, but they don't really get along because Holden works for Cane and because of all the Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) stuff.
If you remember, Holden was really salty and had a falling out with Damian when Lily dated him before he was tragically killed. And Holden was also very rough around the edges back then. He's definitely humbled and calmed down a bit because before he got so angry, so hateful, he thought the world owed him something.
Therefore, Lily is not so happy to find out that this boy is her brother. He doesn't just want Holden to be his brother, but he doesn't want him to give up and save Malcolm. Not because he doesn't want his biological father to be saved, but just the idea that Holden.
But Holden is better than nothing. So, I think Lily will try to get her twins, Charlie and Maddie, tested for donation because that's what's best for her. That will probably happen off-screen, but I suspect they won't be the same.
The Young and the Restless: Catching Up or Matching?
And Holden is already going to get tested this week, even though he's shocked that his mother, Stephanie Simmons, has lied to him about his father's identity all his life. And of course, it would be easy if Holden could be more like his new father, Malcolm. But because it is so simple, it is not a soap. So, I suspect that Holden won't be like him either.
And of course, everyone's going to be scared and worried that they're going to lose Malcolm, especially since, you know, Neil is on everyone's mind. His loss is still very painful for the family. And right now, Holden is still reeling from these revelations. And I think that she, like Lily, will feel bad that she can't save her father, Malcolm.
Can Cane save Malcolm from the young and the restless?
And then I go back to this spoiler about Cane revealing himself to Lily. It's crazy because she says she hates him right now for conspiring with Victor and making him think that she and their children are in danger. Plus, Lily is mad at him about the AI, about sleeping with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), about being Dumas, just a laundry list of things.
Therefore, it is difficult to imagine how Cane can prove himself to Lily and be redeemed in her eyes. But if Cane is the one who saves his bio dad Malcolm, you know, that's a game changer for sure.
And obviously, word will spread and Cane will find out that Malcolm has this blood disorder. Maybe he knew about Holden because he still works for Cane and they get along. I can see Holden opening up to Cane that she is Lily's sister because that makes Cane his brother-in-law, right?
And Holden might ask Cane about Malcolm because Holden doesn't know anything about his new father and Cane is more likely to talk to him than Lily right now. And of course, Cane will be thrown for a loop with all of this.
But when he wraps his head around Holden being Lily's brother, Cane finds out that Holden isn't like Malcolm and that Lily can't give up. And then Cane might go for a test to see if he's fit. And he might be. The important thing is that he doesn't want Lily or their children to lose Malcolm.
Can You Find an Anonymous Donor on Y&R?
But if Cane is a game, I think he might donate bone marrow anonymously because he doesn't want to be accused of cheating or pulling anything. And he and Lily are in this weird mess with the anger going both ways. But lately, Cane isn't too bad. I mean, he still wants revenge on Phyllis and Victor, but they're pretty bad. So, that's fine.
I also don't think he can tell anyone that he is equal. And then, if that's the case, obviously, he can donate to save Malcolm's life, but I saw Stephanie finding out that the unknown donor is Cane because he's Malcolm's doctor. And doctor-patient confidentiality could tie Stephanie's hands. But I think Malcolm might find out. And even if she doesn't like Cane, I think she would be very grateful to turn around and tell Lily that Cane saved her life. The Young and the Restless.

The Young and the Restless: Lily Learns the Truth
Now, I don't think Lily will get any of this from Cane if it goes this way. I think you will hide it. My guess is that if it's going to go this way, it's going to happen in May with a sweep. Malcolm is back for just a moment.
Then Shemar Moore just filmed some scenes that should be seen during the May sweeps, which runs from April 23 to May 20. So, we could see Malcolm go and come back for a bone marrow transplant, you know, because maybe the donor is in Genoa City.
After that, I think Lily will find out. Well, it's not from Cane. And I think you will be surprised. Her personal reveal is in April and towards the end of the month is when the Sweeps begin.
So, it might be there at the end of the month. And of course, there's the possibility of spoiler overload. And it just refers to Cane's test to see if he can donate. But I don't think that's enough to prove myself to Lily.
Cane's Redemption Arc in The Young and the Restless
I see Cane as a wildcard contributor. I think it would be a really soapy twist and Malcolm and Lily and the other Winters would all forgive him. So, we'll see if this is how Cane's redemption comes about. It's very easy for it to be a twin or a Holden to match.
So, I feel there should be something more soapy about this. And we all know even though Cane said he's done with Lily, he still loves her. So, I think we can see Cane redeem himself and he and Lily rekindle their romance.
Because now, he will be doing something with self-sacrifice to make a difference, not for recognition or profit because he would be doing it anonymously. Even better, saving Malcolm's life will also free Cane from his children, in the eyes of Maddie and Charlie.
