Even before AI made things worse, the real scourge of the internet was fake news. You will see announcements of things like upcoming movies or games and get excited, only to find out that nothing is actually happening. That is always disappointing, but always, it happens in reverse. That is, you hear sad fake news and happily find that you have nothing to worry about. For example: social media existed it is full of water recently with breathless announcements that Star Trek: The Next Generation Patrick Stewart will retire from acting after appearing Avengers: Doomsday.
Considering the venerable actor is 85 years old and has spent his entire life on screen and stage, sure it is appropriate to retire. Selfishly, however, we fans always want more performances from the captain, even if he is running the CIA American Dad! or putting Starfleet in its place in Star Trek. Luckily for everyone who loves this character, the fake news is fake! In a recent interview, Stewart responded to the rumors with a bold announcement that he will never retire!

Recently, Star Trek legend Patrick Stewart gave an interview TV Insider. They discuss many things, including how true that is The Next Generation will celebrate its 40th anniversary. At this point, the interviewer casually asked if the actor had retired or was ready to retire. Stewart responded that because he continues to find “interesting things” and likes to be “challenged with new work,” he “can't imagine ever 'quitting.'” In Picard-like fashion, he summed up his thoughts in simple, clear terms: “I'll always be an actor.
