A Massachusetts police officer was reportedly seen crying in court after she and her husband were accused of repeatedly raping a teenager they brought to their home.

Plymouth Police Samantha Pelrine with her husband, Daniel Forandhe was arrested shortly after he was suspended from work on March 17.

The couple is accused of abusing the 12-year-old victim after moving in with them in 2019.

Pelrine, 31, is facing multiple charges including three counts of forced rape of a child and one count of statutory rape, according to the outlet. Meanwhile, Forand, 37, was charged with 20 counts including rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 and over and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

When they appeared in court, prosecutors requested that the defendants be held on $250,000 bail. Prosecutors say Pelrine and Forand abused the boy from the age of 14 and continued to do so for several years.

“The name of that is self-correction,” the prosecutor told the Judge Kristen A. Stone of crime, according to Boston Herald.

Meanwhile, Pelrine's lawyer, Joseph Krowski, Jr.argued that the couple should be released on their own with a no-contact order because they have no prior criminal history and strong ties to their community.

While Pelrine is a police officer, Forand owns the exterminator company Pilgrim Pest Professionals.

A judge eventually set bail at $10,000 for Pelrine, while Forand was given a $25,000 bond.

Both Pelrine and Forand have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them, according to the report. If convicted, they face a statutory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.

During the trial, Forand was photographed speechless as he appeared in Plymouth District Court to face the charges. Meanwhile, Pelrine cried a lot during the trial.

“We are surprised and very disturbed by these allegations. Pelrine was placed on leave after the victim filed a restraining order against the couple and filed harassment claims. In court documents viewed by Usthe accuser said he met Pelrine and Forand through his aunt.

The couple took in the 12-year-old and became her legal guardian, and allegations of sexual and physical abuse began soon after, according to the documents.

The victim went on to say that Pelrine and Forand “both sexually abused me until 2025 and sexually abused me until 2026.”

“They are looking for me, and I fear for my safety,” the victim added, according to the affidavit.
