Tara Reid has people talking after her latest red carpet appearance, parents fight at Toledo school & MEAT

Welcome to the official Screencaps summer kick-off where many of us put in half a day and, BOOM, summer officially begins as you tee off at your favorite local golf course, but before we do, we have to check out Tara Reid of “American Pie” fame.
Did you see 50-year-old Reid on the red carpet at Cannes this week? “I wish her the best,” one fan wrote on Instagram after watching footage from the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Look, it's no secret that Tara has been turning heads over her looks for years.

Women have been worried about this movie legend and this week they have raised that concern to another level. “Please fire her stylist,” one woman wrote. You get the point, if you didn't sleep on Reid before this week, you probably won't sleep well on Memorial Day weekend.
• Moving on to my golf game…my recession day on Thursday went pretty well. I hadn't hit a golf ball in two months after being on the disabled list with a shoulder problem. Instead of going back and playing a flat local course, the team decided to play Monroe (MI) Country Club, which was designed by Donald Ross in 1919. I swear on my golf bible you'll never see a green like No.

It's like a ski slope with a pin in front of a high green as there is only a small area to stop the ball from sliding off the front. I find that Augusta National has a slope and I stand next to No. 9 and 18 in Augusta. Yes, a ski slope. I honestly thought that number 7 in Monroe should be illegal.
If there was a lack of degradation, it was in that hole. Continued to 3 and placed three times. But, I'm back to playing golf and it feels great. In fact, right after I post on this one, we're going to play an old municipal golf course in west Manhattan.
• In baseball news, Screencaps the III got his first official hit of the season with a single over the second baseman's head last night in 20-25 mph winds off Lake Erie. I'm talking windchills in the mid 40s. Very bad weather. Gentlemen, I am asking for heat at this time. Screencaps the III finally came around to score his team's first run. What production you want to see outside of hole No.

• This weekend, we will remember the soldiers stationed just down the road from where we live who sacrificed their lives for this country during the War of 1812 in the name of defeating the British invaders and their Native American allies who invaded from north of the Maumee River. During a particular battle called Dudley's Massacre, approximately 161 Americans were killed. Fort Meigs, a historic site located west of downtown Perrysburg, is considered a sacred burial ground where some remains were converted into buildings, according to historians.
As a content guy, the Toledo Kindergarten fight video is perfect for me
Local hipsters have been pushing a saying for the past decade that rings true this morning: “You'll do better in Toledo.” It's written on signs all over town. Those who wake up put it on their shirts and wear them proudly. As a content person who has done content work, these awakened Toledoans could not be better. Toledo has been very good to me.
I think back to things like the Golden Corral Mother's Day legend and just smile. Those are the proud moments of content for the Rust Belt city up the street. Parents will pass on these stories from generation to generation. Mom, tell me a story about that time you fought with other moms when I graduated from kindergarten.

It almost brings tears to my eyes that this content is right here in my backyard. Disclaimer: Thank god we live 20 minutes south of these idiots.
On the death of Kyle Busch
Despite what you may have read or heard about Kyle Busch, my dealings with the guy over the last 15 years have been pretty good. Kyle and Samantha Busch were the best to talk to. My friend Paul and I interviewed both of them many times over the years and they could not have been better to deal with.
Kyle was one of us. For years, I would see Kyle and Samantha at Leather and Lace Super Bowl parties. Before children, the two were leaders in the party scene. People are just not happy. If a brand asked me and Paul to interview Kyle, it was a done deal.
That's Paul (right) and me and Kyle before the start of the 2019 race in Kentucky. A friend of ours at the time worked in marketing for M&M's NASCAR program and asked us to come in for the weekend to get the full house experience where he would put us up in tents in the infield and stay with Kyle.
We lost one of our good guys on Thursday.

Did we take the American 250 thing too far with the creation of Bush's baked beans?
Do we really need rocket pop baked beans? How does that make sense? I need someone to step up and try those beans this weekend and report back. Email: [email protected]
I want to usher in the Memorial Day weekend with a haircut report that should inspire us all
The blood gets pumping when I open my Gmail and there's Vern from the Pacific Northwest coming in. I have written many times about how Vern is the best of us. His resume is 200 pages long. Decorated. It is very decorated. It is encouraging. Vern is a leader of men. He has been like that all his life, and I hear, through very simple emails, that he still does as he approaches 88 years of age.
FREEDOM IS FREE: HONOR THOSE WHO RETURNED HOME THIS MEMORIAL DAY.
When Vern talks (writes emails), I listen — intently.
Although Memorial Day weekend is a time to reflect on those who died for this country, I feel it has to do with moving on. To put one foot in front of the other and keep walking. Summer wakes up this weekend. We owe it to those who make sacrifices to keep the energy flowing through our bodies.
We owe it to Vern and all the other great Americans to get off our bums and get busy. Have a great holiday weekend. I went to the golf course to get lost for a few hours.
