A couple and their 9-year-old twins have left their home in Brignoles, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France, as fires threaten the Mediterranean Sea, the report said. “Dear Didier, at the moment we do not know if our beautiful home will survive this terrible time,” the letter began.

“As we leave Brignoles we want to emphasize 2 things, firstly we hope that you and the people of our city are safe and secondly that Amal and I are committed to ensuring that whatever happens in our area, we are part of this community and we will be part of making it whole,” the letter continued. “We love Brignoles and our friends who live there.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Clooney's representatives for additional comment, including whether the family made it out safely and whether there is anything new about the condition of their home.

The move comes as wildfires continue to scorch southern Europe.

This fire was separate from the fire that threatened the area of ​​Brignoles, where about 3,000 people were evacuated. Fires continued to threaten parts of southern Europe, and three firefighters died in Greece as crews battled extreme heat, drought and strong winds, according to the Associated Press.

More than 300,000 people have been forced to leave France and Spain, including residents and tourists.

Temperatures soared to nearly 104 degrees Wednesday in the Gironde region of France, where the country's largest wildfire prompted the evacuation of an estimated 220,000 residents and tourists from high altitude. Although many have returned, tens of thousands remain displaced.

In an October 2025 interview with Esquire, Clooney said he and Amal chose to raise their family on a farm in France to give their children a quiet upbringing away from Hollywood.

“A good part of my life growing up was on farms, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of ​​it,” he said. “But now, for them, it's like—they're not on their iPads, you know? They're having dinner with the adults and they have to pick up their dishes. They're much healthier.”
