On Monday, April 27, both Melania, 56, and Donald, 79, released separate statements saying Kimmel was fired from ABC because of the “expected widow” joke he made two days before the incident.

“Kimmel's hateful and violent speech is intended to divide our country,” Melania said on Twitter. “His one-liners about my family are no joke – his words are vile and deepen the political malaise in America. People like Kimmel should not have the opportunity to enter our homes every evening to spread hate.”

Kimmel responded to calls for his firing Jimmy Kimmel Live! that night, insisting that he had been joking about Donald's age, not making a “kill call.”

“This [joke] it was Thursday. There was no big reaction to it, until this morning, when I greeted the day with another storm of Twitter vomit and a call to fire me from our first lady, Melania Trump, saying I should be fired for a joke I made, again, five nights ago. It was a sham roast,” he told viewers on Monday.

The comedian continued, “Obviously it was a joke about their age difference and the look of happiness we see on her face every time they are together. It was a good joke that she is almost 80 years old and younger than me. It was not, by definition, a call to kill, and they know that. in that house.”

The President continued to urge the ABC to withdraw Jimmy Kimmel Live! while the late-night host received unexpected support from a Republican senator Ted Cruz and sequential analyst Candace Owens. Kimmel has since revealed that Trump made a joke about his aging during a visit to the royal country this week.
