Sadie Robertson Shares Update After Her Child Drowns

Sadie Robertson gave a critical update on her daughter Kit's condition after the child was strangled and stopped breathing.
“Right now I'm going through waves of anxiety because of the trauma of the situation, and a lot of gratitude for the miracle of Kit's full recovery and the undeniable hand of God in this situation,” Robertson, 28, revealed on Instagram on Saturday, April 11.
I Duck Dynasty The star then gave us a full explanation of why she hasn't been on Instagram in recent days, adding that her experience with Kit was “difficult to talk about in my real life, let alone on social media.”
“Kit was sitting in her high chair this week, having a drink while I finished preparing dinner, when she started choking her. Within seconds, you could see the seriousness of the situation. My mom pulled her into the high chair and put my girl in my arms just as she stopped breathing,” she recalled. “Everybody took action and prayed.” My mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone started praying out loud and moving the other kids downstairs.
Robertson described herself as “preparing for every situation,” so she had watched videos on how to administer CPR “while hoping and praying that I would never have to use this information.”
“I can't explain it now as if my body already knew what to do, I felt the Spirit of God leading me, cooperating with me in what I had learned and seen. He then immediately began to do it and proclaim life,” he recalled.
The reality star continued, “After following the choking baby routine and doing CPR, Kit miraculously coughed and started breathing, just as the paramedics arrived… it was really scary, but God. I got in the back of the ambulance with my girl, still scared, but thank God.”
Kit is the youngest of three daughters Robertson shares with her husband, Christian Huffwhom he married in 2019. (The couple are parents to Honey James Huff, 4, and Haven Belle Huff, 2. Kit is due in August 2025.)
Robertson shared that Kit eventually made a full recovery after spending one night at a local hospital.
“Christian drove behind [us to the hospital]following us, and he told me there was a rainbow over the ambulance all the way there😭🌈.” “We stayed the night to be watched, but he delighted the nurses after just a few hours and is now healthy, happy and making everyone happy!”
Robertson accompanied the post with a video of Kit sleeping peacefully in her lap, calling her baby's survival a “miracle.”
The host of the “WHOA, That's Good podcast” has often talked over the years about how motherhood changed her.
“I met someone today who saw my messages and said that since she became a mother she seems to be 'free.' He would be right,” Robertson wrote on Instagram in 2024. “Since I became a mother I don't feel like I need to prove anything to the world…or maybe my concept of 'the world' has changed. the world was everyone outside my home…now it's those in it.”
Recently, Robertson confirmed on her podcast in March that she and Huff are in no rush to have their fourth child.
“We're not planning on having a fourth child any time soon. Better yet, we're going to give him a lot of space in between,” Robertson told his audience. “I would like time to heal my body and enjoy the stage we are in, but we would like to one day have another child.”
