Ransom Canyon the show April Blair teased his vision for season 3 – including many possible characters.
“[There will] definitely [be] a new face,” Blair said to herself Us. “I really want to learn more about Lucas and Kit's parents. I feel like we haven't talked about that.”
Blair wanted to expand Lucas' (Garrett Wareing) story, adding, “I really want to bring a new person to the canvas so that Lucas has his new experience and a new love and a fun person to fix things.”
Without the Russell family, Blair hoped for more music.
“Maybe we brought another version of the musical element to our story. Season 1, we had Charley Crockett singing Gracie's. And in season 2, we did this big festival blast with Jordan Davis and Thomas Rhett,” he noted. “And what's a different kind of bringing music to our show? Because I think it's really important.”
He continued: “Does it bring someone who is a singer and actor to the show?
Blair revealed that the “possibilities are endless” for season 3.
Based on Jodi Thomas' a series of books about a city full of drama, romance and hope, Ransom Canyon, which premiered in April 2025, was launched. Us to locals in the Texas Hill Country. In season two, which premiered Thursday, July 23, Davis (Macken), his son Reid (Liner) and Davis' ex-wife Paula Jo (Meta Golding) were all gone from the show. Their absence was mentioned after they played a major role in the first season of the Netflix series.
“When the pipe is in, [Austin Water and Power] cut the bait,” Ellie (Tejada) explained to Quinn (Kelly). “All that money dried up. Half of the farms have been folded. A lot of them just sold and got money.”
Quinn asked if her ex was one of the people who left and Ellie confirmed that he was part of the group. Davis rekindled his romance with Paula Jo while their son, Reid, was attending Texas A&M.
Ransom Canyon is currently streaming on Netflix.
