OG Queer Eye Star 'Feels Deep' About Karamo's Claims

The real thing Queer Eye For The Straight Guy star Jai Rodriguez he answered Karamo Brown's says the environment on the hit TV series was toxic.

“Well, it's Jai here from the beginning The Queer Eyeor maybe 20-odd years you remember it as it is Queer Eye For The Straight Guy,” Rodriguez, 46, shared in a video uploaded to TikTok on Friday, June 5. “It was the first big show on Bravo and my fan, Karamo, who I love and adore, just did a great interview that I deeply agree with. It made me very happy.”

In a tell-all interview with People published on Tuesday, June 2, Karamo – who played in the renewed game The Queer Eye 10 seasons aside Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk and later Jeremiah Brent – said that the workplace of the show is full of allegations of abuse and bad behavior.

“Everybody was just saying, 'That's just the person,' instead of, 'This behavior is out of line,'” Brown said. “It had a negative effect on me, always.”

“I think it's important to share that unless you've worked on the show as a member of the Fab Five, you'll never know the real story and, until now, none of us have written it all or told our stories as honestly as Karamo did,” he added. “It hasn't happened yet. And, um, I have a lot of respect for Karamo to tell his truth. I'm sure that in the next month, years, or whatever, many people will be sharing the stories of their journey and some may shock you, and some may not.”

He continued, “But I think what's undeniable and what I like Karamo emphasizes is that at the end of the day, the members of the band come together to make sure that the hero, the person we've been changing – in the 100 episodes that we've done with the original cast, and the 10 seasons of the new cast that they've done – that all the people we've met are recognized, respected and raise families to do it. It doesn't work.”

Rodriguez starred in all five OG seasons Queer Eye For The Straight Guy as a cultural expert on the side Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia again Carson Kressley.

Rodriguez went on to share Friday that even a TV family isn't immune to the trauma of a normal family.

“I always thought that I would be the one to write everything that happens, because I feel like I can be the most honest person and I have nothing to lose again. [am] it's good and it has a meter,” he added. “But I'm still very grateful that Karamo opened that door of honesty for me because families are dirty, and if it's a TV family you don't get a pass — it's still going to be ruined.”

He concluded by saying, “Messy is also a big name, but I'm proud of him. I'm proud of him. I felt … yes. And you've changed your number because I texted you. Let me know.”
