Meryl Streep danced to 'Mamma Mia' at Emily Blunt's wedding

It appeared Meryl Streep I just can't stand a little “Mamma Mia.”
During the Tuesday, May 26, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Emily Blunt he missed her The Devil Wears Prada costar dances to ABBA's hit song at her wedding John Krasinski.
Streep, 76, of course, starred in the 2008 hit musical Mama Mia!inspired by ABBA's discography.
Blunt shared that Streep was persuaded by her mother to dance the song, Joannaand Krasinski's mother, Mary Clareduring a boat party on Italy's Lake Como, where Blunt, 43, and Krasinski, 46, tied the knot in 2010.
“[The DJ] he was singing songs in Italian, half in English … he started playing 'Mamma Mia,' and John's mom and mom started dancing in a horrible way to Meryl,” the Oscar nominee revealed.
Blunt continued, “He binged. He said, 'I wanted to throw myself in the pool.'”
“[But] he did it! We have pictures of them all dancing together. It was amazing,” added the actor.
Blunt and Streep first worked together The Devil Wears Pradawhich was released in 2006, and recently revived their roles in The Devil Wears Prada 2reuniting with costars Anne Hathaway again Stanley Tucci.
In April, Blunt admitted that she was “scared” of Streep on the set of the original film because Streep stayed in character as the acerbic fashion editor Miranda Priestly.
“I mean, first of all, I was so scared because I felt like you were there,” she told her costar in an interview hosted by SiriusXM Andy Cohen.
“Oh, yeah. I was in that place,” admitted Streep.
“It's not accessible, but we can come up and tell you a funny story, but you wouldn't do your weird laugh that I used to hear,” said Blunt.
As well as The Devil Wears Pradfranchise, Streep played a major role Mama Mia! and the 2018 sequel Mama Mia! There they are as Donna Sheridan faces Amanda Seyfriedalthough his character died in the later film.
Over the years, the three-time Oscar winner has weighed in on a potential third film.
“If there's an idea that makes me happy, I'm all for it,” Streep said Vogue in 2023. “I stand by whatever … I said [producer] Judy [Craymer] if he can find a way to reincarnate Donna, I'm into that. Or it could be like in one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals that her twin sister really died.”
Streep laughed, “We might have to call you Grand-Mamma Mia! when we arrived!”
In 2024, Streep told Deadline that she wasn't sure how the franchise's producers would handle her character's death but noted, “They have an idea. I haven't heard it yet but … I'm going to hear about it soon. Of course I want to do it. I think people love it.”
