Little House on the Prairie TV Changes: Lost Characters, Religion

Netflix has changed Little House on the Prairie – but what changes does their version have compared to the original series?

Based on the book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie the series focuses on the Ingalls family, who live on a farm on Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, in the late 1800s.

Missing characters

In the first series, the family goes to church and highlights their connection with God. While faith is mentioned in the Netflix version, it is never expanded upon, which links back to the books.

Introducing Indigenous Stories

The Netflix version made an effort to place season 1 within the Osage family, which was not the focus of the books and the '70s show.
