Lindsey Vonn and Skier Matthieu Bailet Spark Dating Rumors

Lindsey Vonn and a French skier Matthieu Bailet sparked romance rumors after a recent outing.
Vonn, 41, and Bailet, 30, were spotted together on Thursday, May 7, in New York City. According to photos obtained by Page Sixthe athletes were photographed walking around SoHo and sitting next to each other while waiting for the subway.
Bailet rocked a blue button-down shirt paired with navy pants and a matching sport coat.
Vonn wore white pants and a black jacket. He walked on crutches amid his recovery from a horrific accident at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy in February.
Although neither Vonn nor Bailet have spoken to their connection, they follow each other on social media. Both are alpine ski racers and have competed in the world cup many times.
In addition to her outing with Bailet, Vonn attended the Met Gala earlier this week. The Olympian threw away his crutches for the first time since his crash at the Olympics. Vonn stunned in a custom Thom Browne dress for the event.
Ahead of the annual fundraiser, Vonn talked about how important it was for her to attend the event without her crutches.
“I've been in a very different world, especially since the accident,” he said Vogue before the Met Gala. “This is my kind of coming out party – I get to be with people, put on a nice, feminine dress, and put my bum down for the first time.”
Vonn continued, “Monday will be my first few steps – the first stairs – without crutches. I'm excited, for a lot of reasons, to get to that point.”
Vonn broke and fractured the tibial plateau in her left leg after crashing at the Milano Cortina Games. He underwent several surgeries, including one to save his leg after suffering from compartment syndrome.
Days before her Olympic crash, Vonn tore her ACL in her World Cup race in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Despite the injury, he decided to continue running in the Olympics after a physical examination.
“I have decided that I can compete in the Olympic Downhill competition on Sunday. Of course, I will still need one more training race, as needed to run on Sunday, but… I am confident in my body's ability to perform,” he said before this race. “Despite the injury my knee is stable, I have no swelling and my muscles are firing and responding as they should.
After her multiple surgeries, Vonn began a rigorous rehabilitation program that included sessions in the weight room and an exercise program.
“All these things, it took time,” he said. “There were a lot of layers to it. That made it challenging. And then, if you have slow progress, that's mentally tough as well.”
