Leah Remini she met her ex-husband again Angel Pagan to celebrate “the family we chose to stay behind.”
“In a world where many people feel organized and doing well, I have appreciated the rare beauty of families that change the situation, but never lose true love,” Remini, 55, wrote on Instagram the birthday tribute to Pagán, 58, on Tuesday, May 26. “Some may not understand. [Angelo].”
Pagán responded to his ex by jokingly quoting Al Pacino in the middle The Godfather Part IIIhe wrote, “Just when I think I'm out, they bring me back in! You seriously believe I'm Michael Coleone in this movie!”
The former couple was married for 21 years before divorcing in 2024. (Remini and Pagán have a daughter, Sofia Bella Pagan21, and has three older sons – Angelo Jr., Alex again Nico — from a previous relationship. The family left the Church of Scientology together in 2013.)
In August 2024, Remini announced her separation from Pagán in a statement, explaining that they were “no longer suitable” as husband and wife.
“Yes, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “This decision came after careful consideration and care, and although divorce is difficult, we face this with a positive outlook because we know it is what is best for us.”
Remini admitted that the end of her marriage was “sad,” adding that she and Pagán were “thinking about what they're going to do as we move forward in our new life.”
“But here's the thing: we've been best friends for years,” he insisted. “We still celebrate holidays together, watch our favorite tv shows together, and are together as a family.”
Us Weekly reported in October 2024 that Remini and Pagán had finalized their divorce. (The terms of their divorce were kept confidential since they reached an out-of-court settlement.)

“I don't know,” he admitted Us. “I just think that I was fighting for a life that I've never had fully, tomorrow can't be promised, I don't know how much time I have left, I didn't want to waste it.
