Kyle Busch's Son Braxton Wins First Race Since Father's Death

Samantha Busch celebrates his son Braxton winning his first race since his famous father, a legendary NASCAR racer Kyle Buschhe died suddenly at the age of 41.
“This is his first win since Kyle passed. It was a lot of emotions,” Samantha, 40, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 18, with a photo of her son standing on top of the car after winning his race in the restricted micro sprint class event at Oklahoma's Port City Raceway dirt track on Friday, July 17.
“In addition to being proud of him not only for winning but everything he went through at a young age, without being traumatized Kyle is not here to be a part of this, in addition to being thankful for all the support and amazing people we have around us,” he continued.
Kyle died on May 21 after being found unresponsive in a race in North Carolina and rushed to a local hospital. Besides Samantha and Brexton, he is survived by his 4-year-old daughter, Lennix.
NASCAR announced the hours of Busch's death after his family revealed that he will not be able to compete in the upcoming Coca-Cola 600 after being hospitalized “very ill.” The race's death certificate later confirmed that the runner died of pneumonia that progressed “into sepsis, which led to more immediate and severe complications.”

“As a family, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you,” Samantha wrote on Instagram on June 5, breaking her silence after her husband's death. “Prayers, messages, flowers, food, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have gotten us through the saddest days of our lives.” Although our hearts are completely broken, we have felt God's presence and arms wrapped tightly around each of you.”
On Saturday, Samantha broke her son's race day by thanking those who helped guide him after his father's death.
“6 to 1 with illegal heat driving my dad's car,” she wrote of a video of her son competing in the race class event.
“Thank you to all the drivers who have coached, encouraged and supported Brexton through all of this,” he wrote in another upload, tagging a video of the sprint driver. Frank Flud to train Braxton between races.
“At the restricted Brexton started p14, one wreck lap started back p12,” added another video of the race. “He went through the field. He ended up WINNING!!!!”
Samantha ended her social media upload by sharing a black and white video of her son celebrating his win by raising the checkered flag while standing on top of a race car.
