Kelly Reilly Says Dutton Ranch 'Isn't the Beth and Rip Show'

Dutton Ranch's Kelly Reilly teased who will be leading season 2 after making it clear that Yellowstone the spinoff is “not a Beth and Rip show.”
“I think season 2 is going to be a lot louder Ed [Harris]' show,” Reilly, 48, recently told TV Insider. “This is not a Beth and Rip show. This is Dutton Ranch, and there are four main characters.”
Reilly was singled out Annette Bening like that. “It is an honor for them to join our program,” he added. “I've said this before, I feel like they made us official.”
The actor went on to say: “We could have had a little soap, but it's not because of them.
Cole Hauser he had the same reputation for Harris, 75.
“Obviously, Annette is amazing, but I can't wait to work more with her [Ed],” he shared. “He's an amazing American player that I think has been underutilized this year. We will make sure that you are a big part of helping us, moving forward in any capacity.”
Hauser, 51, explained that Harris' Everett is “going to be a very, very important part of season 2.”

It's not the first time a Taylor Sheridan the show created a stir for the cast. Landmanalso airing on Paramount+, kicks off season 1 by introducing Billy Bob Thornton as corporate fixer Tommy Norris who works for an oil titan in a drama set in West Texas with life-and-death stakes.
Tommy became very involved with Monty (Jon Hamm), who was married to Cami (Demi Moore). Season 1 only showed Cami when she was supporting her husband or swimming in their pool. After Monty's on-screen death, Cami took center stage in season 2 against Tommy.
“I told her, when I met with Demi about that, I said, 'Look, here's the thing. She's going to be extra on this show,'” Sheridan, 56, recalled on a June episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast” show about deliberately sidelining Moore. “In seven episodes, you'll have more, and the critics will follow me.'”
Sheridan wanted to stir up drama with his decision.
“'I'm not abusing this [actress]I can't write to women,' all this nonsense.' Then I'm going to kill your husband, and you're going to have to run the oil company,'” she recalls telling Moore about her original arc on the show.
The shakeup was important to Sheridan, especially if he was to achieve his first goal.
“Me and the critics, I don't care what they think, and it annoys them that I don't care,” he added. “And I'll be the first to tell you that there are things I do that annoy them a little, and this is one of them.”
