Jennifer Garner Ben Affleck Coparenting Relationship Details

Jennifer Garner gave a glimpse into her volatile upbringing with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
“There's a time in your life where you get caught up in all of that. And that's okay,” Garner, 54, said. Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on Thursday, July 16, when we think about finding a balance between a successful career and being present at home.
“That's the season,” he continued. “And it's a good thing. I wouldn't trade a minute for it.”
Garner also opened up about how raising her three children, Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13, has changed since returning to acting, admitting that she “absolutely” prioritized staying at home in the past.
“My children are older 1784317068,” added Garner. “Their father — ex-husband [Affleck] – has become this amazing partner. And I have this unbelievable [business] My co-production partner and I have things that we control and that we can help keep in LA … I love making movies anywhere, but I really want to make movies at home.”
The actor previously recalled finding ways to bring his children to work, saying, “Now they're in high school, you can't do that anymore. But they can stay with their father.”
He spoke to Affleck, 53, adding, “He's great. He takes care of them. He's a great partner in that way. And that's very liberating.”
The former couple met at the start of Pearl Harbor in 2001 and reconnected three years later. They exchanged vows in June 2005 before expanding their family.
After ten years of marriage, Affleck and Garner announced their separation in 2015.
“After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “We move forward with love and friendship for each other and commitment to raising our children and ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for your understanding.”
The couple's divorce was finalized in 2018. A source later told Us Weekly that parenting was a “work in progress” for Affleck and Garner.
“Things are coming up between them, but they are determined to do their best for the children,” said an insider in 2020. “They're always on top of things and have a lot of meetings and check-ins. They want to be the best parents they can be for the kids. If they have a disagreement, they keep it to themselves and don't let it affect them. They always put their happy face on and they put their happy face on the kids.”
Affleck and Garner have both moved on publicly since calling it quits. Garner was first linked to an illicit boyfriend John Miller in 2018, when Affleck rekindled his romance Jennifer Lopez in early 2021.
I Gone Girl the actress and Lopez, 56, were engaged from 2002 to 2004. He proposed again in 2022, and the couple married the same year. Us confirmed in August 2024 that Lopez had filed for divorce, concluding the proceedings in January 2025.
