Jamie Lynn Spears Writes Before Daughter's High School Graduation

Writing on Instagram on Friday, April 24, Jamie Lynn, 35, was struck in the head while thinking about motherhood before Maddie's graduation.
“Welp….grad invitations are sent, cap and gown arrived, and the last regular day of school is here….I think the beautiful state of denial I forced myself into has to end, bc the reality of the times is coming at me like a freight train,” wrote Jamie Lynn of Maddie, 17.
“I know the saying 'the days are long, but the years are short' is one of those rare sayings, bc it's said so much, but now I know that cliches are only said so much bc they continue to ring true in every phase of life through the test of time.”
Jamie Lynn, who is the younger sister of Britney Spearshe went on to explain that it meant a lot to him to watch his daughter grow up.
“Having the privilege of watching your children grow up is one of the most beautiful and fulfilling things we can do as human beings, and I am so grateful for every up and down moment in my motherhood journey so far,” she wrote. “It's sad, bc you're proud of everything they've accomplished so far, and you're so excited to see what their future holds, while you also want them to be your child forever.”

In 2007, Jamie Lynn found out she was pregnant with her first child while she was still young and starring in the Nickelodeon series. Zoe 101.
Jamie Lynn and ex-boyfriend Casey Aldridge welcomed Maddie in June 2008. (Jamie Lynn also has daughter Ivey Joan, 8, with husband Jamie Watson, whom he married in March 2014.)

“I don't feel like a young mother anymore, but I think that's because I had my first daughter so young. I used to be insecure sometimes, because I was always the little mother in the room,” she told the outlet.
She added, “I quickly learned that being a good and capable mother has nothing to do with age. I have met other amazing mothers from 20 to 50 years old, young or old, love is just a matter.”
