Former NFL player Jordan Devey he is dead. He was 38 years old.
“Today would have been our 15th year. We have filled the walls of our homes and our hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles and triumphs,” Jordan's wife, Linsey Deveywrote about Instagram on Thursday, July 23, announcing the death of her husband. “We brought four beautiful children into this world with your eyes, spots and compassion.”
He continued, “You were our hero and our hearts ache when you're gone, we love you, we miss you, and as you said to me in your last words, 'We'll talk soon' ❤️.”
Linsey also asked social media followers to donate to a newly created GoFundMe campaign to “ease the heavy financial burdens. [their family’s] hearts” after Jordan's death.
“[Jordan’s] the family [is navigating] a very difficult and sad time,” wrote a friend of Linsey's GoFundMethey say Jordan died by suicide. “In the face of overwhelming emotional and financial challenges, including mounting medical expenses, the community is coming together to support Linsey and their children.
The statement added, “If you can, please consider donating to support Linsey and their four children during this difficult time. Every donation, prayer and act of kindness is deeply appreciated and will remind them that they are surrounded by a community that loves them. Thank you for your generosity and keep the Devey family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Jordan played for seven NFL teams, including the New England Patriots when they won the 2024 Super Bowl. He finally retired in 2021 after a stint with the Buffalo Bills last year.

After his NFL career, Jordan coached high school football in Idaho.
“Jordan Devey was a respected member of the Eagles community, known for his unwavering dedication to serving others,” the GoFundMe statement read, referring to the athlete's life outside the NFL gridiron. “Jordan spent many hours volunteering as a coach for his children's teams and athletes at Eagle High School, where he was well-liked by the players who saw him as a mentor, role model and friend. His dedication to improving those around him extended beyond sports, as he faithfully served his church, offering support, advice and friendship to anyone in need.”
Jordan is survived by his wife, their four children and his parents.
