Fetterman calls Mamdani a creditor for pushing for Netanyahu's arrest warrant

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman took new aim at New York City Democratic Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Sunday, calling her a “ridiculous person” for her repeated interest in arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he visits New York for the United Nations General Assembly in September.
“[He’s] such a difficult man to say such a thing. He has no way to do that,” said Fetterman on Sunday Morning Futures.
“America is not even part of that corrupt court,” he continued, referring to the International Criminal Court (ICC), which issued a warrant for Netanyahu's arrest.

“There you are [Mamdani is] he's just too funny to even say that, so he won't try it. Just sit down and focus on other… problems they have in New York. That's not really your idea. You and I know that. Sit down.”
Mamdani has repeatedly said that he will demand the arrest of Netanyahu if the Israeli leader goes to New York City, citing the warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in November 2024 accusing Netanyahu of war crimes and crimes against humanity stemming from Israel's war with Hamas.
Recently, the leftist mayor said his administration is looking into whether the city has the legal authority to arrest Netanyahu, calling him a “war criminal” “from The Hague,” during an interview with The New York Times.
Netanyahu dismissed the allegations, and Israel rejects the jurisdiction of the ICC in this matter.

The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute that established the ICC and does not recognize the court's jurisdiction over US citizens or Israeli officials.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the mayor's office asking if Mamdani is standing by calling Netanyahu a “war criminal,” whether City Hall is negotiating with the Law Department about possible legal action against the Israeli leader and whether the mayor will order the NYPD to arrest Netanyahu if attorneys decide the city has legal authority. However, the mayor's office did not immediately respond.
Meanwhile, Fetterman has emerged as one of the most outspoken defenders of Israel in Congress, while at the same time serving as one of Mamdani's – and the progressive left's – biggest internal critics of the party.

Speaking to Fox News' Maria Bartiromo, Fetterman discussed his relationship with Israel with the late South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and why he would reconsider his position in the Democratic Party if its official platform embraces anti-Israel policies.
