Disney Has Already Canceled The Movie That Could Save Star Wars

I spend a lot of time playing Star Wars. So, many people think I'm a hater who loves to see this iconic franchise fail. In fact, the opposite is true: I've loved Star Wars almost my entire life, and there's nothing I love more than seeing it succeed. However, under the management of Disney, the franchise has had several critical and commercial steps, so now I love Star Wars the same way you love a drunk uncle who puts together Thanksgiving parties. Know this person who is nice to talk to but secretly you would like him to put the sauce down and get his life together.
It's highly unlikely that your uncle will get involved anytime soon, but he might not be too late for Star Wars. You see, Disney doesn't need to reinvent the franchise from the ground up; instead, they just need to release one really good movie to remind the audience how great this franchise can be. Unfortunately, The Mandalorian and the Grogu they didn't scratch that, and many fans decided they wanted something more from Star Wars than an outdated game. That's why House of Mouse needs to bring back the one canceled film that could ultimately save the franchise: Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron.
Walking Rogue

In The Empire Strikes Backwe learn that Luke Skywalker is the commander of Rogue Squadron. The success of these pilots (arguably the best X-Wing pilots in the galaxy) and their new leader, Wedge Antilles, is chronicled in the excellent Legends books by Michael Stackpole. In December 2020, Lucasfilm revealed that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will direct a Rogue Squadron the movie. Eventually, Jenkins left the project because he wanted to focus on other films, and the project seemed dead, although Jenkins later revealed that he had signed a new deal to write the script for the X-Wing movie. However, there are no real updates since then.
Given its name and post-Rise of Skywalker setting (something Jenkins' film should have had), many fans thought Disney had fallen short Rogue Squadron in our favor Star Wars: The Starfighter. However, it is not clear exactly how A star will resonate with audiences because its rumored plot (about a tough pilot who accompanies a sensitive child to a dangerous place) is very similar The Mandalorian and the Grogua (by Star Wars standards) box office hit. Fortunately, it's not too late for this franchise to regain its former glory. What Disney should do is bring Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron film (now with a complete script) in life.
You are clear, Child

Why am I sure about that Rogue Squadron could it be a Disney Star Wars movie? While details of its plot have been kept secret, it's clear that in commissioning a film about pilots, Disney wanted to have their own. Top shot in space. As it turns out, that was a very good idea. When Tom Cruise returns to the new series, Top shot: Maverickgained more $1.5 billionthat's why Top gun 3 it is developing now. As it turns out, the general audience love a combination of sexy pilots and cool dogs, and Rogue Squadron it would be an easy way for Disney to get a piece of the action.
If done right, a Rogue Squadron The movie can also help channel what was originally done The Mandalorian very good. Remember how excited everyone was about that show when it first came out? A big part of the original appeal of the show was that it didn't have Jedi and Sith gameplay and was generally not integrated from the various Star Wars trilogies. Ultimately, it led to tie-ins to other shows and movies, and the Baby Yoda hype died down, which is part of why The Mandalorian and the Grogu flocked to the box office. But a Rogue Squadron what the film can bring The Mandalorian used to be: All-new characters and adventures set in a galaxy far, far away.
Stay on target

Finally, Rogue Squadron it would be the perfect way to return the franchise to its roots. If you ask people what their favorite part of the first Star Wars movie is, it's a safe bet they'll say the attack on the Death Star. Pilots who save the galaxy by using lethal techniques are, frankly, what the whole world loves A New Hopeand the only weakness of that film is that we didn't know the pilots at all. Rogue Squadron can finally shine on these rebel heroes while giving us the coolest dogs in the galaxy.
Unless the Force is with us, that is impossible Rogue Squadron will see the light of day, and may go down as the only Star Wars film to be canceled twice. But the script has been written, and Patty Jenkins still seems eager to direct it. All Disney has to do is give the green light to the most exciting movie franchise idea of the last decade. If they wait until A star bombers, however, may have to send a personal message to the director: “Help me, Patty Jenkins, you're my only hope!”
