Days of Our Lives brings a flurry of hot couples to the fore as we head into the lazy, dark days of summer. We saw Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) in his Marine blues looking hunky on Memorial Day, and he put Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) in his place when he tried to flirt with her.
Plus, we have Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) waiting in the wings. Also, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) spends time with his baby and stepmother while Stephanie Johnson is in China.
Gabi and Philip Split After Corporate Spying Revealed
So things finally blew up in Gabi's face when con artist Anna DiMera spilled the beans to Philip that Gabi's company's exploration nearly ruined Titan's future. He also reported to Tony DiMera who took information about the forged letter from Victor and used it against Philip and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer). Let's be clear, Gabi did this on purpose because she wanted to be DiMera's CEO even though she didn't need it and she already had Gabi Chic.
Of course, Anna was trying to help Tony. But he messed things up. Now she thinks Gabi will assume that she told Philip that she won't take the job. The strange thing is that Gabi doesn't blame Tony. She thinks Theo Carver did it even though Gabi lost her shot with Philip. At least, you know, Gabi will have a bunch of money to comfort herself because Philip gave her proof that Vivian forged the divorce papers and that Gabi is actually Stefan's widow.
Days of Our Lives: Gabi Gets No Mercy?
And, if he wanted it, Tony would still give Gabi the CEO job. And that will take out EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) in the end. But if Gabi takes the job, there's no chance in hell that Philip will ever take her back. Now, as it stands, I'm not sure he'll ever get Gabi back no matter what. Therefore, he has nothing to lose as far as Philip is concerned.
Their breakup was nasty and Gabi was dumped in broad daylight in the middle of Horton Town Square after Philip confronted Gabi and finally admitted the ugly truth. Philip even told Gabi that he might have forgiven her if she had admitted it herself instead of being forced to come out. If you remember, he almost told Philip on that Valentine's Day trip that he went with Gabi to Miami. But then he got angry and now he is eating crow. So, we separated Philip and Gabi. Both of them are married and soon things may change for both of them.
Theo Has A Crush On Gabi
Right now, she thinks Theo betrayed her trust and took her away from Philip because Theo loves her. And if you remember, Gabi read Theo's journal that day when he left it at the bar. And Gabi saw him talking about the woman he really loved, he just called her G, capital G. So, it's clear what Theo meant. And soon, Gabi will confront Theo about her blow-up with Philip and get dumped. But as we know, Theo never abandoned Gabi. It has been known for a long time that he was doing dirty work for Tony and then his uncle double crossed Gabi. And apparently Theo will deny telling Philip because he didn't.
And I think Gabi will express her love and Theo might admit, well, I like it. But that's why he won't give up on Gabi like that. Theo would never deceive or hurt Gabi like that. And I think she'll feel bad for blaming Theo, who has been mean to her. From there, he might comfort Gabi in her grief over losing Philip. And we might get a little hot romance for Gabi and Theo once her heart starts to mend. I bet we could see Gabi and Theo enjoying some personal fireworks on July 4th if they keep it up.
What's Next for Philip?
But the question is, where does that leave Philip, who is single and may be ready to meet soon? I saw several ways in him. First, there is his ex, Belle Black, who Philip has been crazy about for years. They are always gone. And Belle is upset that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) stayed with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) while she was recovering from a gunshot wound.
And of course, Belle had that lackluster zero chemistry date with Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd) that seems unlikely to go anywhere. But Belle also thinks that Philip won't make it through this whole trickery thing. So, it might be a no-no for Belle dating Philip again. And he seems committed to leaving Gabi in his rear view. So, I don't think you go back that way.
Days of Our Lives: Are Alex and Joy Getting Closer?
However, one ex who could be found soon is Stephanie Johnson. Her marriage may be on the rocks soon. He left Alex in Salem while he went to Hong Kong for his brother Trip's wedding, and told Alex to spend time with his daughter Kelsey, who he should have on his solo visit. But we know that Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) will come and she and Alex form a bond as parents as they take care of Kelsey together, according to the official. Days of Our Lives the robbers.
And although Joy insisted to Philip that she just wants a good life for her daughter with her father in it, we all know that Joy would love to have Alex in her life romantically and happily and raise their daughter together. Jeremy was the one who brought Joy to the city for that reason.
And while Stephanie seems to be enjoying the idea of being Kelsey's stepmom, this could take a turn for the worse soon because Stephanie may return from her Asian trip and decide she's not ready. Even after he's gone, Alex and Joy grow closer and Stephanie doesn't like what she sees when she returns.
Days of Our Lives: Stephanie is depressed
The problem or the angry one's hands are tied. I mean what can he do to tell Alex that he doesn't want Joy and Kelsey because they are property and there is no way Alex is going to be separated from his daughter Kelsey again. The bottom line is that despite Alex and Stephanie having that sweet act, things can go wrong. Did you see that heart box Alex gave her? It looks like the Days prop designer went to a middle school store class with an old phone, red Legos, and a pine box from Michael's Arts and Crafts.
And if Stephanie is stressed about the baby bomb in her life, she might talk to her ex Philip, who would be more than happy to comfort her. Now, I don't think he would have tried so hard to crash his cousin Alex's marriage to Stephanie. But then again, maybe he would. We all know what you have done before. Philip recently opened up to Amy Choi about lying about his death.
And of course, we all know he did it out of jealousy to frame Brady Black for his murder, so Philip could run off with Chloe. So, never say never. But I think if Stephanie and Alex were already out, Philip would have put her on the rebound if he could.
Some Summer Love Shakeups
I also expect to see Xander and Sarah grow closer over the summer as they are still deeply in love. But it seems like it won't work. And that will leave Brady Black out of luck sometime between summer and fall. EJ DiMera chases Cat Green. But she's still hot for Chad DiMera, who has a residency agreement barring her from dating.
EJ is about to be hypnotized this week and reveals some of his and Cat's memories. That should be interesting. We will also see Jada and Shawn start to heat up among other couples. So, it looks like a hot summer of romance, including breakups, makeup, and shakeups for a few Salem couples.
