David Faustino Talks About His Possible Marriage With Kids Resume

David Faustino he is the first to acknowledge the revival of Married … with children it came surprisingly “close” to happening.

“Actually, I signed my contract,” Faustino, 52, shared exclusively with him Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 10, before his live event with The Bundy Club again Ed O'Neillwho played her famous TV dad, Al Bundy, on the hit sitcom. “All the actors have been very supportive. It's built around the Bud Bundy kind of story, and they've been supportive. They've agreed to appear as recurring characters. They're not going to be in it all the time. According to Faustino, the original creator of the program, Michael Moyeeven flew to Los Angeles to work on the script.

Al's shoe store may have closed for the reboot, but Bud was almost back on the clock in a big way. Unfortunately, the team “ran into a speed bump” when someone pumped the brakes on the project out of concern that the storyline was deviating slightly from the original plan.

David Faustino Reveals Marriage With Kids Reboot Was Very Close To Happening

The experience was “disappointing” for Faustino because he strongly believes that a project centered on his character, Bud, would have “blown up.”

“We would all be happy. But to be honest, when the show ended, it was a cold business decision because season 11 was happening,” he added. “Towards the end of it, FOX didn't know if they wanted to renew it or not. They were walking the line. They couldn't decide, and then at the 11th hour, they decided to cancel it.”

While Faustino understands it's just business, he hoped the reboot would be a hit with new and old fans who have grown to love the show, which also starred. Christina Applegate as Bud's sister, Kelly Bundy, Katey Sagal like his mother, Peggy Bundy, and Amanda Bearse like family neighbor Marcy D'Arcy.

Fortunately, fans are in for a treat after the Bundy Club announced that Faustino will join O'Neill, 80, in a special live event in front of dedicated fans on Thursday, June 11, at 9 pm ET.

The show, which is available to view via Zoom, will include memories from it Married … with childrenbehind-the-scenes stories and never-before-seen fun facts.

“They're getting a real benefit from me and my team, and they're getting posts about things people have never seen before and real stories,” teased Ferstino. “The kicker is the bi-weekly Zoom groups with a serial writer. We had Amanda Bearse, who played Marcy, and now we have a big story, which is Ed.”

The actor added, “Ed doesn't do a lot of things like this. … The fans are really excited because now they're going to be able to get into an intimate conversation, but they're going to see us in a completely different way than they've seen us before.”
