Conn. Man Shot Firefighter After Burglaring Ex's House

After breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and finding another man in bed with her, a 41-year-old Connecticut man opened fire, killing the decorated and popular firefighter, police confirmed. Us Weekly.
Terrence Cramer he was a Bridgeport firefighter, according to authorities.
Cramer, 41, was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, allegedly by Jabari Bush, who forced his way into his Stratford home shortly before 2 a.m.
The woman has not been identified, but she spoke to police and said she woke up a man in her bedroom, who was later identified as Bush, who yelled at her, “She's in here with another man,” CBS News reported, citing an affidavit in the case.
The woman said that before Bush pulled out the gun, he allegedly hit her square in the face.
It was not clear whether the woman had any injuries. The woman said she saw “sparks” before Cramer yelled, “I just got shot,” CBS News reported.
First responders arrived to find Cramer – who was about to mark his 10th year working for the city – clinging to the ground, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the right thigh. Despite their best efforts, EMTs were unable to stabilize the firefighter and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The woman told police that Bush was having trouble moving on after their breakup, sending her abusive text messages and showing up at her work in the two days before the murder.
Bush was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Saturday following a brief chase with police, according to the Stratford Police Department.
Bush has been charged with murder, home invasion, criminal possession of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm in connection with the incident.
“Everybody counted on him, he counted on him to show up, especially during the fire,” Bridgeport Fire Chief said. Armando Cora said after the hearing, according to ABC 7. “I remember seeing him on fire when he was a fearless person. He came in, he did his job and he did what was expected of him.”
“If you didn't know him, you wanted to know him, when you knew him, you wanted to emulate his qualities—his humility, his friendliness, he never had a smile on his face,” said Bridgeport Fire Dept. Christian A. Teague.
Cramer had two young sons. Flags across Bridgeport were ordered to be flown at half-staff to honor Bush's dedication to the city.
Bush is being held on a $3 million bond.
