News of Cassie's move comes a year after she ruled in Diddy's highly publicized case. In September 2024, Diddy was charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit burglary and transportation for prostitution. He has vehemently denied all the charges against him and continues to deny the charges.
During the trial in 2025, Cassie testifies about their alleged relationship. The women stayed on and off for 11 years until they graduated in 2018. Cassie previously alleged in a 2023 lawsuit that Diddy sexually assaulted and physically abused her. Diddy denied these allegations before they came out of court less than a day after filing his legal claim.
Diddy was eventually found guilty of two counts of transportation and was acquitted by the jury on the remaining charges. He is currently serving four years in prison.
At the time of the trial, Cassie was pregnant with her husband Alex Fine's third child, a son that has not been publicly disclosed. The couple are parents to daughters Frankie, 7, and Sunny, 3.
“There are no words to describe how thankful I am for doing this life with you! The pure laughter and joy I have with you is beyond any of my dreams and my imagination,” she wrote on Instagram in March 2025.
Fine was next to Cassie as she took the witness stand.
“Five days ago, the world was able to see the strength and courage of my wife freeing her old life,” said the MobLand actor in a statement shared in May 2025. “There was speculation on the Internet about how I must have felt sitting there listening to my wife's testimony. I felt so many things sitting there. I felt so much love and I feel ashamed. She was upset that she was sitting in front of someone who was trying to break her.”
