Caleb Shomo's Wife Breaks Her Silence After Singer Says He Is Gay

Lead singer of Beartooth Caleb Shomoyour wife, Fleur Shomobreaks his silence after the rocker comes out as “proudly gay.”
“Not sure how to start this cause anything needs to be said? But I think I'll just dive in,” Fleur wrote via Instagram on Saturday, May 23. “The past few months have been a frustrating and painful time to navigate. For both of us. But I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb. I've cared so much about his life in the world over the years.”
He continued, “Seeing the confusion and pain he went through and the ups and downs and wanting to help but not knowing how. You don't want anything more for your man than for him to behave well. You always ask yourself if you are a bad person by wondering what this means in your world and the anger you have. I am the only person who has to deal with supporting all the lost until they are lost. You can love and support your man during the most difficult time in his life, while you are completely destroyed and lose yourself at the same time.”
On Saturday, Caleb — who has been the lead singer of another metalcore band since 2012 after leaving crabcore band Attack Attack! – came out as gay on Saturday after fans speculated about his sexuality online.
“There has been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love. I am a proud gay man,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is something I've been putting out and thinking about in my life for a long time now. It's been difficult to look at the emotions associated with the topic and figure out what to do with this fact.”
The singer added, “When it comes to my art/Beartsooth, I've been fighting to chase who I am from the depths of my soul from album to album. There were moments I didn't allow myself to dig down for so long.”
The post was Caleb's first since deleting his Instagram account in March following the release of the band's new single “Free” from their upcoming album. Pure Ecstasy. Along with one, the singer started a new look that made the former Atilla Chris Fronzak making homophobic speech. (Fronzak later apologized.)
In her public statement following her husband's announcement, Fleur touched on the 14 years of marriage she shared with the singer while urging fans to continue to support her husband. His comments were also accompanied by a video showing the two dancing in the living room in front of the television.
“Our almost 14 years of marriage were sweet and full of fun, fun and love. No one will know anything about our marriage like we do. And no one can really know the depth of love that exists between two people unless they are those people,” he continued. “I already miss you and my husband more than anything else. Our story was beautiful. Now it's over.”
He added, “I hope that anyone in the world who is going through this will find hope and courage and I hope that the fans can continue to support Caleb. In the meantime I will continue to focus on what I can control and continue to live my life trying to achieve what I want to achieve. And if I keep saying hello to as many dogs as possible along the way, I'm sure things will get better little by little, day by day, little by little, little by little.”
