Brandy Pens Powerful Post Against Body Shaming: 'Be Gentler'

Brandy encouraged her followers to “treat each other gently” in an empowering post about body fitness.
“I have learned that it takes only a moment to form an opinion about a person's appearance, and a lifetime to understand what he has lived through,” Cinderella star, 47, wrote to her Instagram followers on Saturday, July 11.” So may we be kind to one another. Not because everyone is weak, but because everyone has a story that we don't see.”
His open book began with a reflection on what “beauty” means in the age of social media.
“Maybe we've been looking for you in all the wrong places. In youth. In perfection. In acceptance. In fixed bodies and ageless faces,” he explained. “But life was not meant to leave us untouched. It shapes us. It humbles us. It refines us. Each era leaves its signature on us. And maybe that's where beauty has always been. Not in running away from change, but in succeeding in it.”
The “Boy Is Mine” singer – who shares a daughter Sy'rai24, with ex Robert “Big Bert” Smith — advised followers that “the world will always be tempted to measure people by what is visible.”
“But love never only looks up, love sees everyone,” he wrote. “I've stopped trying to find my vision. I've stopped asking the mirror to tell me who I am. I know who I am. And that knowing has given me the freedom no vision has ever taken away from me.”
Brandy wrapped up her post by expressing hope that her thoughtful words will leave an impression on potential body shamers.
“Before you speak of a man's body, before you speak of a man's face, before you decide who he is by what you see, remember that you are looking at a man's child, a man's friend, a man's dream. “And souls have always been more beautiful than surfaces.”
Brandy also shared a carousel of highlights of her wearing an all-gold ensemble, including a mesh cover-up and hoop earrings.

He later spoke and assured fans that he was feeling better before returning to the stage the following night.
“I'm so sorry for the sudden end of last night's game in Chicago. After weeks of training, last night I was dehydrated and felt like passing out,” he explained on Instagram. “Everyone involved agreed that putting my health first was very important.”
The pop star continued and said, “I made the decision to try to do it all again despite not feeling right. Since I had to make some changes and the show is very technical, unfortunately, it was not possible to fully connect in terms of gender and production. I am very grateful for everyone's efforts.”
In March, Brandy celebrated a very exciting event when she was honored by the comedian Issa Rae and the manufacturer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds when he received an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
