Billy Bob Thornton it was measured in half Sam Elliott playing his father Landman – despite being only 11 years apart.
“Since the beginning of movies,” Thornton, 70, said to himself Us Weekly while attending the Newport Beach TV Fest sponsored by Newport Beach Resorts on Saturday, June 6.
The actor recalled similar incidents in other projects, adding, “Kathy Bates played the mother in Bad Santa and she's nine years old. It's acting, the movie.”
Thornton continued: “Let's say it's not in the newspapers or on Wikipedia — how old a person is — then no one can say anything.”
Landman introduces Thornton as corporate fixer Tommy who works for an oil titan (Jon Hamm) while building on its promise of structural revolution. The season finale killed off Hamm's Monty when Tommy was appointed president of M-Tex before being kidnapped – and severely beaten – by a drug cartel leader. Tommy is eventually released on the promise that he will cooperate with the company.
Season 2 upped the ante by shaking up the narrative with Demi Moore's Cami added to the mix. Elsewhere in the show, Ali Larterby angela, Jacob Loflandcooper, Michelle RandolphAinsley and the others are in the middle of their own drama.
After Landman went through a dramatic loss on screen, Thornton talked about if Tommy could be next.

“I think Yana Grebenyuk Taylor [Sheridan] he will let me stay alone,” he said Usindicating that his character will not be killed yet.
Thornton went on to show her support for Sheridan's career – and even took the opportunity to stand up for the show's discredited executive producer.
“It's like, 'If you disagree with someone else's style or vibe or whatever it is, that's not the point,'” he said. “The point is, is he good? He writes good things.”
Thornton continued, “He's created a huge empire — and you have to respect him for that. He's famous, he's successful, he deserves recognition for his work on TV, for sure.”
