Ashlyn Harris Wants to 'Explode' Sophia Bush's Love

A football star Ashlyn Harris he was happy that he is “the happiest I've ever been” in his relationship with his girlfriend, Sophia Bush – and he's not afraid to show off.
“As much as I'm defending that, I don't even want to shut it up,” Harris, 40, said to himself. Us Weekly while promoting his new documentary, Game Changers: The Story of Ashlyn Harris. “When we enter the room, we are in our house, we are on the couch, we can't keep our hands off each other. I love you, because I love you with every inch of my being.
He continued, “And I don't have to ask for that love, I don't have to ask for that love, I can just be in it to be quiet and be at peace and feel this joy, why don't I like to share that, I want to explode. I think that anyone who shares the space with us can see that in 30 seconds. It's not something that is done. But if you sing this joy and happiness, I live in this joy on the roof.”
Harris and Bush, 43, began dating in October 2023, a month after the former Team USA star filed for divorce from his wife of nearly four years, a former soccer player. Ali Krieger. Bush filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Grant Hughesafter 13 months of marriage in August 2023. The couple finalized their divorce in January 2025.
“I think what people see is two people who have really had a hard time and they find each other,” Harris said of his relationship with Bush. “It took a long time. We were chasing and trying and doing all the work.”
Harris and Bush also “bred” two children that Harris shared with Krieger: a daughter Sloane5, and a son The sea3.
“Now we're just relaxed and happy and in love and raising these kids in this family,” Harris said. “We're very grateful and lucky. I don't want to shut that up.”
In her new documentary, Harris wrestles with identity after her divorce and her acting career, which she describes as “a really weird place.”
“I had to do real work and it's not easy,” he told us. “Life is full of difficulties and sorrows. [The documentary] truly a love letter to me. I am proud of the bravery and I just give up. Unfortunately, I will hurt other people in this process, but it's time for me to choose.”
