Andrew Tate and Brother Arrested for Rape, Sex Trafficking

Controversial “manosphere” promoter Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan TateThey were arrested in Miami after the UK government charged the brothers with rape and sex trafficking.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate on other charges including rape, organizing or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and charges relating to child pornography,” Malcolm McHaffiethe head of the UK Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), announced on Saturday, July 18. “These prosecution decisions follow the receipt of another file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of suspected victims in this case to seven.”
CPS confirmed multiple media reports that Andrew, 39, and Tristan, 38, were apprehended by US Marshals in Miami on Saturday ahead of a scheduled boxing event they were expected to host.
The Associated Press reported that the Tates are expected to appear in federal court early next week to begin extradition proceedings to the UK

The veteran Andrew now faces “seven more counts of rape, three counts of organizing or facilitating trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm,” according to CPS. He also cited 19 additional charges including child pornography and extreme sexual pornography.
Her brother Tristan faces additional charges of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal prosecutions work, and that these defendants are entitled to a fair trial,” McHaffie said on Saturday. “It is extremely important that there is no reporting, commenting or sharing of information on the internet that could derail these processes.”
McHaffie concluded, “The CPS has requested that the Tates be extradited to the US. They are in custody and awaiting extradition proceedings in the UK.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Tates for comment.
On Saturday, their lawyer Joseph McBride he told The Associated Press that he will still talk to his clients, but said he hopes the criminal charges against him are “filth and slander.” He added that the Tates deny any wrongdoing.
“They're doing everything they can to make sure these guys don't get their day in court,” McBride said. “We are confident that once a competent judge has seen the facts, and once the Department of Justice has dealt with this terrible abuse of its authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will go free. America is not doing Britain's dirty political work.”
The Tate brothers – who hold dual US and British citizenship – have been involved in previous international legal cases. An unrelated sex-trafficking case in Romania was eventually closed under allegations of a lack of respect for the law and procedure.
Andrew rose to fame as a contestant on the UK version of Big Brother before carving an online niche in the manosphere with content widely criticized as sexist, racist, misogynistic and offensive. Both Tates are supporters of the President Donald Trump.
