Paul Averya beloved actress known for her role All My Childrenand his wife, Sheila AveryThey died in a house fire this week, according to many reports.
New Jersey State Police received a response call at the couple's home in Blairstown, New Jersey, shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. WFMZ report. When they arrived at the scene, the house was on fire.
Firefighters found Paul, 81, and Sheila unconscious and performed CPR, but both died a short time later, according to the report. Ridge View Echoa newspaper founded by a soap opera star.

Daughter of Paul and Sheila, Kyle Avery, confirmed their deaths on Facebook on Tuesday.
“I am saddened to tell our parents, Paul and Sheila Garry Avery, passed away this morning,” the post read. “We loved them so much, and they loved us so much, and no one ever wondered if that was the case. We thank the Blairstown Fire Department for their efforts. Service plans will follow.”
Paul began his acting career in the 1970s. He appeared as a TV cameraman in the 1978 film Superman and later starred as Hughie, a bartender at Foxy's, in All My Children in the '80s. He remained in the role for 12 years before his exit from the series. Paul has also worked on over 300 commercials, according to Soap Opera Digest.
In addition to his acting career, Paul was a reporter and senior editor for the Ridge View Echo. He also had a veteran and pilot in his spare time, according to WFMZ.
“I got a call telling me what happened, I couldn't believe it,” Joe Phalonemployee of Ridge View Echohe said as he left. “I always like to call Paul the most interesting man in the world, because he was there when he thought about everything he did in his life. Skydiving expert, skydiving, from Vietnam, started a newspaper.”
Phalon added, “His passing is going to leave a real void in this community. Not just in Blairstown, but in the surrounding towns. I think we're going to really miss him, and I think it's going to become more clear as time goes on.”
Kevin Martinowner of Jersey Ridge Soaring at the Blairstown Airport, also responded to Paul's death.
“It's going to take some time to get used to not having him here, because it was like, 'Okay, it's the weekend, we're waiting to see Paul,'” he said. WFMZ. “He was a strong pilot before, so he had some measurements, so when he got to the gliders, he was quite a natural pilot.”
