Erin Andrews Gets Emotional Discussing Family Emergency

Erin Andrews she shed tears as she recalled the family emergency where her father was hospitalized.

“I didn't discuss this at the time, but at Christmas … it was bad and bad – but it ended up being good. My father had a heart attack in Montana with us, and it was very bad,” said Andrews, 47, during the Thursday, April 9, episode of his podcast “Calm Down” no. Charissa Thompson. “And it was in front of us. I'm proud of my sister, my mother, [husband] Jarrett and me for getting in on the crazy town action [and] to find emergency services. My father fled to another hospital. It was a lot.”

Andrews continued, “It was a lot, and at the time I wasn't very grateful for the care that my dad received – from the firefighters and the helicopter to the people at the Bozeman hospital that took care of him. So, it's been a lot for us in the last three months.”

The sports broadcaster said his father had another health scare recently when he was hospitalized with symptoms of a heart attack.

“Our PTSD was re-examined when my son FaceTimed my dad one day and he answered from a hospital bed in Tampa,” Andrews explained. “My whole body is stuck.”

Thankfully, Andrews' father “hasn't had another heart attack” but has recently developed symptoms.

“So, for four or five days our family was just devastated, like, 'Oh, my God, this poor guy can't catch a break,'” he continued. “The important thing in this story is, I thank God that my father is alive, but my father is alive because of these health workers, and I feel like they are people who don't get as much credit as they deserve.”

Andrews broke down as she added, “Dad takes great care of himself, and he loves it, he does a great job. And I feel bad. He needs to rest. The cardiovascular disease is very bad.”
