Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk should be investigated for “4.5 million children” who may be “sentenced to death” by his cuts, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., argued Saturday.

Khanna suggested that the Democratic Party take action to hold Musk accountable if they were to regain control of the House of Representatives or the Senate.

“I believe that when we take power, there must be accountability,” Khanna said on the “I've had It” podcast. “There needs to be accountability for Elon Musk. You know, they celebrate that he created 4,400 millionaires, but they don't talk about the 4.5 million children around the world that he may have sentenced to death by disbanding USAID.”

Khanna continued, “He has to answer for that. He has to be called. He has to face an investigation. He has to answer for what he did with DOGE. [Department of Government Efficiency]. It's not just 'let's move on.'

Host Jennifer Welch agreed with the idea of investigating Musk, saying he was responsible for “killing” millions with DOGE government spending cuts.

“I like that we need to keep pushing the talking point you just had that there's no need to celebrate Elon Musk making other people millions. If you're a pro-life group like you say, MAGA, you're killing millions of the poorest people in the world,” Welch said. “So I think the hypocrisy that exists is really amazing.”

“We have a deep economic divide in this country. On the one hand, places like Silicon Valley produce extreme wealth. On the other hand, families are struggling to pay for health care, housing, and basic needs. We can tax billions in a limited amount to ensure that everyone has a fair chance while maintaining our new engine,” said Khanna in a press release in March.
