Canada entered the Round of 32 on Sunday as the favorite to advance to the Round of 16 by defeating South Africa. But it wasn't as easy for the Canadians as it may have shown.

The teams entered the second half with a 0-0 tie. But Canada managed to score the winning goal in the 92nd minute. A cross into the box by the Canadians landed directly on the head of the South African defender, but the ball hit the head and landed on the chest of the Canadian midfielder Stephen Eustáquio.

Canada produced the better chances throughout, putting seven shots to South Africa's one and holding a 1.32-0.13 in expected goals, but the Canadians couldn't break through until Eustáquio's winner of the evening.
