Arlington County Sheriff Andy Penn said the allegations against Baglio are against department policy.

“I want to assure our community that the serious criminal charges in this case represent behavior that is completely unacceptable and inconsistent with the principles, values and responsibilities of our institution,” Penn said. “Such actions are in direct conflict with the oath we take and our professional expectations of all police officers.

Penn said the department would conduct a criminal investigation and internal administrative review and vowed to hold officials accountable based on the findings.
