Sullivan's Crossing's Maggie Must Get Divorced After Twist

Sullivan's Crossing it won't make Maggie and Liam's marriage any easier to end.
In Us Weekly's exclusive clip from the Monday, April 27, episode of the hit series, Maggie (Morgan Cohen) walks in with Cal (Chad Michael Murray) about helping to “fix” her situation with Liam (Marcus Rosner).
“I talked to the attorney's office and I'm afraid you're going to file for divorce. There's a five-year deadline to file again,” Cal said to Maggie, who seemed upset by the news. “It's not a big deal. It'll be fine.”
Maggie argues that it's a big deal to her, adding, “An annulment meant the marriage never happened. A divorce meant I was actually married.”
Despite the roadblock, Cal reassures Maggie not to worry.
“Look on the bright side, at least you don't have to get a lawyer,” he joked about his previous job. “Just breathe. It'll be okay, I promise.”
Season 3 of Sullivan's Crossing first brought up Maggie's ex when she talked about Liam to Lola (Amalia Williamson) during the summer he had met before graduating from medical school. After a great encounter on a trip abroad, Maggie and Liam go out without contacting each other.
Liam was brought up again when Cal found the letters Maggie wrote to Liam explaining why their relationship couldn't work for long because she wanted to prioritize her career.

The entire season focuses on Maggie and Cal's relationship. Despite not being an official couple, they faced several challenges, including Cal reconnecting with his estranged father, who was terminally ill.
After Maggie supports Cal through a difficult encounter, they return to Sullivan's Crossing, where he asks her to move in with him. They start planning their future just as the season comes to an end, which is when the guest who came in earlier that day reveals himself to be Liam. He then insulted Cal calling himself Maggie's husband.
Kohan previously joked about the surprise, telling Swoon in July 2025, “I remember hearing a little bit. [about Liam early in season 3]. I didn't know they were married. It started to be talked about when we were filming the scene with Lola and we had summer challenges. I knew he was going to get into it, but I didn't really know when and in what capacity. That cliffhanger scene made me so happy to read it too.”
The actress admitted that Maggie's nervousness about taking things seriously with Cal may have stemmed from her past with Liam.
“I feel like it came out so last minute that I didn't really have time to think about it, but I think it will.
Kohan noted that he was in the dark about Liam's role in season 4 as the audience.
“At the same time, I don't know the history, so who knows if we get more information about that information, what it really means that he is her husband and all these things,” she continued. “I mean there will have to be a few conversations [between Maggie and Cal]. It will be a matter of trust that we have to rebuild because that is a big thing that we have to leave out.”
Sullivan's Crossing is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 4 airs on The CW Mondays at 8 pm ET.
