Oklahoma Couple Allegedly Forced Girl, 14, to Become Surrogate

An Oklahoma couple unable to conceive without medical intervention allegedly forced a teenage girl to act as their surprise before fleeing to Nevada to hide, Us Weekly you are educated.
Nathan Potter again Erica Palmerboth 36 years old, were found hiding in the city of Sparks, Nevada, earlier this week, where the fugitives were arrested on charges, authorities said.
Potier is charged with child sexual abuse, while Palmer is charged with permitting child sexual abuse, according to police.
Potier is suspected of raping a girl, 14, and is believed to be the father of the twins she was forced to carry, the allegations say.
Police began investigating the couple in December 2025, after an Oklahoma Child Protective Services employee was notified of a pregnant woman carrying twins. Investigators then spoke to the girl, who said she had been sexually assaulted. She said her rapist was the one who caused the pregnancy of the twins she did not want.
According to a news release from the County Sheriff's Office, the development of information led authorities to believe the couple lived in the Sparks area. A recent investigation proved that they were hiding in the city, and they were arrested on Tuesday, March 17, by members of the United States Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force.
Palmer allegedly told police that she wanted to have children with Potier but was unable to conceive naturally because she was intubated, according to court documents obtained by KFOR.
Authorities will now take a sample of Potier's DNA to confirm if he is indeed the biological father responsible for the high-risk pregnancy.
“This case shows a high level of cooperation between the investigators and the agencies that cooperate with them,” said the police in a press release announcing the arrest of the two. “Through these joint actions, law enforcement remains focused on finding individuals who attempt to evade detection and ensuring they are held accountable, while continuing efforts to track and monitor registered sex offenders in our area.”
KFOR reports that court documents appear to refer to an earlier report filed in California, which alleges that Potier sexually assaulted the teenager, and that Palmer admitted it.
Potier and Palmer will soon be extradited to Oklahoma to stand trial. Palmer and Potier are being held on $200,000 and $300,000 bonds, respectively.
