Food Network's Katie Lee Gives an Update on the GLP-1 Tour

Food Network personality Katie Lee Biegel he opens up about his experience using the GLP-1 drug to help him lose weight.

“It's been an amazing experience,” Lee Biegel, 44, said on the Thursday, July 23, episode of “All on the Table.” a podcastnoting that she started taking the controversial weight loss drug in February. “That's a personal decision of what feels best at your ideal weight.”

I The kitchen The star said she wanted to lose an “extra 10 to 12 pounds” of her postpartum weight, but had a hard time meeting her goal without gaining extra weight. (Katie and her husband, Ryan Biegelwelcomed daughter Iris in 2020.)

“I had about 10 to 12 extra pounds that I had carried around for the last 5 and a half years since I had Iris, and I just couldn't get it off,” Katie explained, referring to her daughter. “I was exercising five times a week, eating healthy food [and the weight was] I didn't go out, and I didn't feel like myself. I wasn't feeling well.”

He continued, “As we age, especially for women with menopause, your body changes, and the way your body processes sugar.” [including] reducing inflammation, reducing the risk of heart disease which I talked to my doctor about and it worked for me.”

GLP-1s, including Wegovy and Mounjaro, are often prescribed to adults who struggle with weight-related conditions. Doctors usually to warn individuals against using semaglutides for normal weight loss.

After a discussion with her doctor, Katie began using GLP-1 “in a small, small dose.”

“I went up and then went down and got a small dose. I'm not looking to lose weight anymore,” he said of his progress. “I lost what I wanted to lose, and I feel like a confused new person, it's been good for me physically and mentally because I don't have to think about it. [my size] and when I put on my panties.”

The celebrity chef also shut down any criticism of his use of GLP-1.

“Exercise has been great on so many levels, but it's also made it so that if you say you want to lose weight, that's a bad thing,” Katie admitted. “I think it's fine as long as you're healthy [and] as long as you're looking to do things in a healthy way, and that's what I did and it was good for me. It doesn't mean it's good for you or good for your neighbor, but you do it. I really liked it, so I think if you're thinking about it, talk to your doctor. It is also nothing to be ashamed of.”
