Star Wars Icon Adam Driver to Play Magneto in Marvel's Upcoming X-Men Movie

Right now, it's a weird time to be an X-Men fan. On the other hand, we're all excited to see some of the original movie crew (including Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen) from last year. Avengers: Doomsday. On the other hand, most of us are a little excited about what's to come. Marvel is currently hard at work on an X-Men movie that will properly introduce new versions of these characters to the MCU. Except that it will be directed by Jake Schreier (who brought us Thunder Lights), we don't know anything about this upcoming film.

Now, however, we have a potential bombshell in terms of casting. Currently, many reliable Marvel scoopers are reporting that Star Wars icon Adam Driver will play Magneto in the MCU. The news comes ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel can make the streaming announcement official. Until then, the rumor that Driver will be playing the famous foe has fueled the fandom and cemented the fact that some big names will be bringing our favorite mutant heroes and villains to life in an X-Men movie.
