Danny Glover gave an insight into his life before revealing that he had Alzheimer's disease.
Glover rose to fame in the '80s after playing LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh on the show Lethal Weapon films. He also appears in films like this one The Color Purple, Predator, Saw, Dreamgirls, Death at a Funeral, I'm Sorry to Bother You and more.
On the small screen, Glover had an Emmy-nominated role as Nelson Mandela on HBO Mandela. He was also on Showtime Fallen angels and TNT Freedom Song.
Glover became a father in 1976 when he welcomed a daughter with his then-wife Let's meet again. Eventually they broke up, and Glover found love with her Eliane Cavalleiro. After ten years of marriage, Glover's representative confirmed her separation from Cavalleiro in 2022.
Four years later, Glover revealed that he had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
“I can live with it in a sense,” he told Today in 2026 about his ongoing symptoms. “I'm sure as it goes on, different things will be different and change.”
Glover highlighted his commitment to speaking to “young people” about his social justice efforts.
“The biggest thing is to talk with young people and their responsibility,” he said. “[I have] we still have a lot to learn.”
Glover's daughter also spoke about her diagnosis, she said People“I think he knows sometimes and sometimes he doesn't.”
He continued: “It's a change in the mindset of who you think you are or don't think you are. It's very difficult, you just have to live a day with who you are.”

Let's meet again
After meeting in college, Glover and Bomani started dating.
“I've always been obsessed with Sake,” Danny told People in 1992.
The two got married in 1975 and welcomed a daughter Mandisa a year later. Bomani also reflected on their relationship, telling People that, “We've been friends for a long time, it's like we grew up together. Danny is used to loving people unconditionally, and I want him to be unconditional. Danny is less judgmental than I am.”
In 2000, Glover and Bomani split, the actor citing irreconcilable differences.
Eliane Cavalleiro
Glover met Cavalleiro in 2003 in Brazil at the World Social Forum. After several years of dating, the couple got married in 2009. Glover's lawyer confirmed in 2022 that she was “no longer married” to Cavalleiro.
