By Chris Snellgrove | Published

It's been a strange year for David Harbour. On the other hand, celebrate a certain career milestone, such as completion Stranger Things and bring back his quirky MCU character Avengers: Doomsday. On the other hand, he has been involved in high-profile celebrity scandals. The first was when the Daily Mail he continued his story Stranger Things costar Millie Bobby Brown had filmed a campaign of harassment and bullying against her. The second was when his ex-wife, Lilly Allen, released an album about their nasty breakup, which included juicy details about Harbour's love life.

For a long time, Harbor didn't say anything about Allen's album or the false allegations he made against him (which he freely admitted were all untrue) in its songs. Now, she's opened up about many of the biggest stresses of the past year, including watching her emotionally wrenching breakup turn into a public sex scandal. For the most part, the Stranger Things The star kept it to a high standard and emphasized only one point: that he misses things a lot, a lot in a different way than his ex-wife.

Grab your popcorn and buckle up, because you're going to need the gist of this crazy tale. It all starts with David Harbor marrying Lilly Allen. They were such an unlikely pairing (she's a brutal movie star and he's a free-spirited musician) that the internet quickly fell in love with the power couple. Those online fans were understandably disappointed when these celebrities divorced in February 2025. Normally, that would be the end of it, and everyone would find a new celebrity couple to obsess over. But Allen eventually released an album called West End Girl that seemed to spill all kinds of tea about her topsy-turvy relationship with Harbour.

The singer has never said that the album is clearly about Harbour, and in another interview, he said with the words “I don't think I can say that it's all true.” Still, the lyrics seem to be directed more at her ex-husband: Allen sang about breaking up with a spouse who was jealous of her growing success as an actress and wasn't ready for a long-term commitment. In this album, she says that the husband kept a completely separate apartment called “P*ssy Palace” where he could be with other women. Since the husband was a little independent in Harbour, the words (which included interesting details about the sex toys of choice) became a musical allusion to the Stranger Things star.

For the longest time, Harbor said nothing about it West End Girl; Meanwhile, Allen has gone viral for wearing gift receipts that Harbor allegedly bought lovers. Recently, i Stranger Things The veteran spoke about the album for the first time in an interview with Variety. “It was weird,” he said at first. He was oblivious to what Allen said about him: “I believe it is the right of every artist to use the knowledge they have to create art, so I respect him for doing that.” He explained that he doesn't want to discuss too many things because “Despite the fact that many people don't allow my private life — I value it. And I value the lives of people I communicate with privately. I just won't talk about that.”

When the interviewer offered one last chance for David Harbor to back down against Lily Allen's claims, Stranger Things The star continued to be disappointed by commenting that “issues are complicated… that's why I say I respect his artistic creation to convey his knowledge.” He then ended his thoughts by saying what to say innumerable Ex-girlfriends and ex-husbands say when their partner is suspected of being bad in love. “It's not my experience.”

Fans hoping for something more exciting for her (like the aforementioned sex toy comment) may be disappointed that Harbor didn't spill much of the dirty deet. However, there's almost nothing he can say here that won't hurt his career. If he tries to defend himself out loud, he will probably be called rude, abusive, insensitive, etc. Which is, ironically enough, what would happen if he took a different song and said all of Allen's lyrics were right.

Port successfully chose the only option left to him, which would be a little protective but not committed enough to ensure one thing: that those Marvel checks keep coming, baby!
