Swift's appearance caught the attention of NBA radio commentators Tyler Murray and McNutt, 36, per video posted on social media.
The pair seemed unaware they were broadcasting as McNutt asked, “Is that Taylor Swift over there?” Murray then took out his phone to take a picture of the singer for his wife.
McNutt is then heard saying, “He's not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.”
Us Weekly has reached out to McNutt's representative for comment.
Social media users came to Swift's defense, noting her longtime love of the Knicks.
Founder of Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy shared X, “Damn. Hate to see @McNuttMonica hating on Taylor Swift. Lots of new faces in the crowd. Don't see her tearing them apart.”

Swift was among the A's cheering on the Knicks on Wednesday night, sitting alongside Alana and Este Haim and Mariska Hargitay.
The singer was spotted sitting a few rows ahead Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney and her boyfriend, a music manager Braun scooterwith whom he was involved in a dispute over the master recording of his first six albums in 2019. During that time, Braun bought Swift's then-record label Big Machine Records. Braun sold the artists to Shamrock Holdings in 2020, who then sold them to Swift in 2025, allowing her full control of her music catalog.
“[I] it went from being like, loved and appreciated for over a decade to being a real villain the next night,” Braun said of the controversy during a May appearance on Suzy Weiss' “Second Thought” podcast.
“I don't want to get into that, but I'm going to say something that sums up what I don't know if I've ever said,” continued Braun, 44. “I don't know Taylor Swift. I think I've met her three times in my life.”
“I've never had an important conversation with him in my life,” Braun said. “One time I was invited by him to a private party, he told me that he respects me a lot.
He added, “I think I talked to him, really, once for more than two minutes. But it was a very nice conversation. And besides, nothing ever happened. And three years before we bought the big machine, he and I had never been in touch. I think it was two years. The party was like two years before or three years before, and I never had any contact during this whole thing. So I'm confused about your choice of this.”
