Bethenny Frankel 'Changed' Aging Stigma on SI Swimsuit Show

Frankel, 55, only opened for Us Weekly about being the oldest model to walk the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway on Tuesday, June 9.

“I feel more comfortable,” the The Real Housewives of New York City alum told Us on Tuesday, June 9, about this current phase of his life. “I feel happy, I feel proud. I feel like you're getting more credit points now, like I don't think anybody cares.”

She continued, “The biggest thing is that women are failing. I never thought about my age until that show came on. Yes, women feel abandoned, counted, marginalized. They just get old … This changed that.”

Frankel went on to say that she “didn't realize” she was representing older women, but she felt honored by the support she received. “They were like, 'You've got us, go.' It's amazing, that's a huge thing,” he said Us.

One of the reasons Frankel loves the SI Swimsuit runway so much is because she “sees everyone confident in their body shape, size, race, height, bums, pants, legs, tan,” and more. “That's very empowering,” he explained. “He's just coming in.”

“Changing the age structure is very important because it's the biggest thing people think about: anti-aging,” Bravobrity added.

As for where his confidence comes from, Frankel shares that it's “habit.”

“It's like a manual job you do, and you create self-confidence, because you see that it works, because you see women worried about how they look,” he said, noting that it's not just about physical appearance. “Focus on your personality, focus on fun, focus on intelligence, on managing presence, on having room, on being interested,” he advises. “Anyone can burn now…so just be confident.”

While walking the runway, Frankel looked stunning in a blue and white bikini bikini with triangle cups and strappy bottoms. She later changed into a black set complete with lover cups and thong bottoms.

To prepare for the show, he used SofWave and PureImpact to make it look perfect. “I do some SofWave [for skin lifting in her face and body] and PureImpact therapy,” which is about a muscle strengthening device that promotes exercise.” “I did that a few times before last year's show, and before this year's show. I know you feel sad after that … I did more than I did, because everyone was getting in my head.”
