James Van Der Beekhis ex-wife, Heather McCombtied the knot on the sofa Scott Michael Campbell.
“Yesterday me and @scottmichaelcampbell under the covenant of God we were officially married by my beautiful sister @essence_says surround[ed] about the people we love the most in the world in our favorite city Missoula Montana,” McComb, 49, wrote on Instagram Sunday, May 31, announcing the couple. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from across the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus for being a miracle worker!”
He continued, “You all made it special and it was a truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We are sitting here counting our many blessings. Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us!”
McComb also shared a series of photos from the celebration, including one in which she was seen smiling as she hugged Campbell while at the altar.
McComb was previously married to the late Van Der Beek from 2003 to 2010. That same year, James exchanged vows with her. Kimberly Van Der Beek. They went on to adopt six children.
In February, news broke that James had died at the age of 48 following a battle with stage III colorectal cancer. McComb, meanwhile, paid tribute to James in an emotional Instagram post at the time.
“Thank you for everyone who reached out,” he wrote. “I appreciate and feel all your love. I am heartbroken for the loss of dear James. I am so sorry for his wonderful wife Kimberly, his beautiful children and his wonderful family, Jim, Jared, Juliana and all his family and friends who I know he loved deeply.”
Alongside the message, McComb uploaded a black and white photo of James in a hug. She explained in the caption that the photo was for her 21st birthday and James' Dawson's Creek was still represented in the air.
“This is how I will always see James as innocent, kind and pure of heart,” he wrote. “What a journey we've shared over the years. I sit here with so much gratitude for the special bond, friendship and love we shared with James that has endured over the decades. I will cherish the last words of love we shared. James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and the deep love of God that shone through him, yet, he always shined. Deeper, always in a place that chased things outside of him. of luxury.”
He continued, “I know James loved being a dad and oh how he loved Kimberly with everything he had. They are true soul mates. The way he showed her such kindness is so beautiful and something I will always cherish. James was a blessing to all who knew him and because of his courage to share his journey with the world so bravely he is now a blessing to all.”
In the post, McComb asked God to “hold Kimberly, her children, her family and everyone who mourns her loss in your hands.”
“He is the healer of all healers,” he concluded. “Thank you Jesus for bringing this beautiful soul into the world and into all of our lives. I love you James. I know you had many loved ones upstairs when they welcomed you home. God bless you. Until we meet you sweet soul you. Prayers up 🙏❤️.”
