Spencer Pratt Fires Back For His Political Party

Spencer Pratt issued a fiery response to questions about his political allegiance ahead of the Los Angeles mayoral primary.
“Everybody's trying to call me tribal. There's no R next to my name, there's no D next to my name,” Pratt, 42, emphasized with an X on Saturday, May 23. “I'm not part of a political party, because I hate politicians. I'm just Spencer, the husband Heidi [Montag]Ryker and Gunner's dad, and I'm angry for an Angeleno who loves my city and is fed up with what corrupt politicians have done to him.”
Pratt is registered as a Republican as of 2020 but is technically running for mayor of Los Angeles as an independent public advocate.
Earlier this month, Pratt was interviewed by CNN Alex Michaelson why has he aligned himself with the GOP in recent years.
“When I was a hated star, I got a lot of death threats. I had a lot of security and the police and they told me what to do? Get a gun,” he replied. “LA was dangerous so I got a gun. My wife needed a gun.”
Pratt explained that he needed a Concealed Carry Weapon license to own a gun and that “only people were supportive [those licenses] it was the Republicans. “
“That's what I was dealing with. My safety, the personal safety of my family,” he stressed. “I know people don't like guns but when people threaten your life and your safety it tells you that you need to be protected at home. … When you feel fear and it's true, you want to protect your family.”
