Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul he has officially become the owner of the house after several months of agitation.
“You are officially the sole owner of the house and thanks to the best real estate agent in Utah [Liann May, her mother],” Paul, 31, announced on Instagram on Monday, May 18. “I'm sad because of the excitement but I'm trying.”
The reality star shared a video set to an instrumental version of The Verve's 1997 hit “Bitter Sweet Symphony,” showing her being presented with a ceremonial key to her new home as confetti fell all around her.
Earlier this month, Paul confirmed that he is in the final stages of buying his first home.
“I just bought my first house on my own,” he shared on his Instagram story on Wednesday, May 6.[I had] I have hired for years.”
Being a homeowner is a major undertaking for Paul following a difficult few months in which his personal and professional life was in turmoil.
In March, ABC canceled plans to air Paul's season The Bachelorette three days before its scheduled first date amid news that he and ex Dakota Mortensen both were being investigated in Utah for a domestic incident. Production is on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5 was also put on hold amid the investigation.
The scandal escalated when body camera and cell phone footage of a domestic violence dispute with Mortensen was leaked, leading to his arrest in 2023. (Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was placed on probation to resolve that charge in 2023.)
Paul's latest domestic violence investigation was resolved when the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office declined to file criminal charges against him in April.
“I cried when I got the call 🙏 THANK YOU to those who have supported me,” Paul wrote on Instagram after news broke that they would not be charged.
Mortensen broke her silence on the Salt Lake City DA's decision by vowing to focus on her son and Paul Ever, 2, going forward.
“In the past few weeks, I took a step back and had time to leave the chaos. That space was a breath of fresh air and gave me clarity. Now I'm focused on where it should have been all along for my son and I'm creating a stable, healthy environment for him to move forward,” he wrote on Instagram on April 20.
Mortensen continued, “I regret not speeding up the difficult cycle. I'm not perfect, and I take responsibility for my part. I'm very sorry to those I've hurt. At the same time, I don't agree with the way this situation has been portrayed publicly. It doesn't show the full context of what happened or the impact it had on me and my son.”
However, Paul ran into another legal problem when he temporarily lost custody of Mortensen's 2-year-old son, Ever. She received supervised visitation with Ever before the June 1 hearing while Paul and Mortensen were both granted protective orders on April 30. (Paul also has daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with her ex-husband, Father Paul.)

The specific situation of Paul's time of The Bachelorette remains unknown, however Secret Lives of Mormon Wives the producer Jeff Jenkins confirmed on May 1 that season 5 of the Hulu reality series will resume filming soon.
Asked if Paul would return for new episodes, Jenkins, 58, said, “I really hope so.” [she will film with the other women]. Once again, the first and most important thing is that you are healthy physically and mentally, we will talk about it later.”
