WNBA Star Arike Ogunbowale's Battery Charge Is Charged

UPDATED 5/7/26 at 5:00 pm – Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale spoke after the battery charge against him was dismissed following a hearing on Wednesday, May 6.

A judge dismissed the misdemeanor nolle pros charge, meaning prosecutors decided they no longer wanted to pursue charges.

“We are glad that the State Attorney's Office used its discretion and chose not to proceed with this matter,” said Wings' attorney. Mitch Schuster said a statement to ESPN on his behalf. “Ms. Ogunbowale is a person of good character, and we are happy that the charges have been dropped so that she can focus on her professional work again.”

WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale he was arrested after a party in a famous Miami nightclub and went south.

Ogunbowale, 29, was arrested on a charge of battery at 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, according to a booking record obtained by Us Weekly. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Ogunbowale allegedly punched a man in the face at E11VEN nightclub in Miami while he and his Mist teammates were celebrating winning the Unrivaled tournament on Wednesday, March 4, according to a complaint obtained by TMZ.

After the altercation which is said to have started inside the club, a group of people, including Ogunbowale, were being escorted out the back.

A policeman who was trying to help the group to leave was allegedly punched by Ogunbowale and fell to the ground.

In the videos shared before his arrest, Ogunbowale could be seen partying at E11VEN with his Ngungu colleagues. Paige Bueckers again Azia James.

“The division is aware of the incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and we are in the process of gathering more information,” said a spokesperson for Unrivaled in a statement sent to ESPN. “We are in contact with Arike and his representatives.”

Ogunbowale's WNBA team, the Dallas Wings, also released a statement about the arrest.

“The Wings are aware of the incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and are in the process of gathering additional information,” the team told ESPN. “Further comments will be made once we have more information.”

E11VEN night club has become famous for hosting championship sports teams after big wins.

Just last week, Team USA's men's hockey team celebrated their club gold medal win.

The nightclub declined to comment on the incident involving Ogunbowale but told TMZ, “We are proud that E11EVEN Miami continues to be the place of choice for many people to celebrate big moments and milestones.”

The spokesperson added, “We are thrilled to be the official tournament venue for the Undisputed Champions after party and honored that athletes and teams from multiple sports consistently choose E11EVEN to celebrate their victories. We are committed to providing a world-class venue that reflects the energy, excitement and glory of those moments.”
